stay with ball control passing game then take a shot or two each half off a dbl move. just keep them first downs coming and eat up that clock. put the pressure on the seahawks offense to keep pace and get lynch out of the game plan as much as possible.

If we win the toss, I say defer and make their crowd calm down while their O takes the field...

Deep passing will be a problem if the weather is truly in the 20 s and rainy.
I say try getting in there, go no huddle with pre meditated short yardage passing plays, mix in the run.. just be up tempo with the offense with multiple personnel changes to follow that to try and get the defense off their game, score early and get ahead. Let our defense try to hold up as they are the ones who would have the noise advantage.

I like Sproles a lot in this game, lining up in the slot. Run Graham up that sideline to clear out room for him, and when they start creeping up BAM! you hit Jimmy over the top in single coverage.

Generally speaking though I think we play this one patiently. Lots of short passes, flare passes, 3 step drops. Keep the tempo up, go no-huddle a lot. It will slow their pass rush down and keep those young DB's on their heels all night. Nickel-and-dime them to death until they get impatient, screw up and leave the big play open. That is our game.

I think this is a game where Payton goes pass-happy to wear their legs out for a while, then goes to the run late in the game to finish them off. similar to the game plan against the Cardinals, who IMO have a very similar defense.

With the kind of defense we have now, combined with Brees being crazy good in the 2-minute offense, we should ALWAYS defer. How many games have we won basically because we had a 10-point or 14-point swing from the end of the 1st half to early in the 2nd? Seems like quite a few.

On the other side, Russell Wilson is efficient this year, but his overall numbers are not what you would see from a QB who carries his offense. Plus, he's fumbled a lot. 8 times, I believe. I like our chances of getting a crucial turnover or two deep in Seattle territory especially with the way Cam/Hicks are dominating people right now.

Would be nice to get our running game going and dictate the flow of the game, however the colts proved the seahawks D can be beat when TY hilton burned them like 3 times

Seattle D will press our WRs and try to give more time for the D line to get to Brees. Historically we struggle here.

I doubt we take many deep shots.

Run and screen game are key in this game

Same thing said about Chicago...
Drew's best visitor passing outing this season.

Re: Brees' Downfield Passing vs Seattle Pass Defense

We heard the same type of stat about San Francisco in '11, that no one goes deep on them, they don't give up the big play....and then Drew dropped at least 3 or 4 bombs on them, including a TD to Graham....we lost that game on D but our offense in that game put up more points and yards on that SF defense, than any other team that year....

Look. I suppose we should all be impressed, that the Jaguars, Titans, Vikings and winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers can't go deep on the Seahawks or don't make the big play. All I see is that Andrew Luck and pre-pick 6 Matt Schaub, both were able to move the ball fairly easily against this Seahawks defense, and gave them all they could handle. And the Saints/Brees offense are > than both those offenses.

Agreed, have to have some small passing success early to open up the run.
But it's going to be tough.

I like the fact we can attack them so many ways. I'd rather us control clock and force them to abandon the run game. Anyone else see us playing Seattle like we did sf forcing them to beat us thru the air.

If Sean treats this like the SB/Conference I see this going well.

Onside kick for the win!
