Hagan, not so sure I'd want to spend an early pick on a Right Tackle...

I'd like the early picks spent on a premium position Quarterback, Pass Rusher, Primary Cornerback, No. 1 Wide Receiver, 3-Down Outside Linebacker, Left Tackle...

Based on our roster, I'm hoping the BPA when we pick in the early rounds are OLB, CB and WR; I'd add TE should Graham departs with my preference being Notre Dame TE Niklas...

TE Troy Niklas Notre Dame 2013 Pass Plays - YouTube

Troy could be first round material if not for such bad, inconsistent QB play from Tommy Rees. Balls were either thrown behind him, late or overthrown. I think he (Troy) will still be there by day 2 or 3.

Jordan Matthews | The Sideline View

Read this excerpt from this scouting report...

...In fact, heading into said opener against Ole Miss, he was truly the only weapon Vanderbilt had on offense. Now, don’t get me wrong, the Commodores had some fine players, but without former WR mate Chris Boyd (suspended all year), Matthews was THE guy that could change the game. Vandy knew it. Ole Miss HAD to know it.

And, the Rebels couldn’t stop him.

He finished with ten catches for 178 yards and a touchdown. But, in the second half of that game, he was exhausted. He took an IV, came back in the game. He caught a key third catch with just over two minutes left, got drilled, threw up all over the field. He then came back four plays later and caught his tenth pass of the game on 4th and 18 for the biggest first down of the game. But, after Ole Miss had scored to take the lead, Matthews had a pass bounce off his hands that ended up in the hands of an Ole Miss DB. Matthews was distraught on the sideline; he thought he had cost his team the game. Yet, Ole Miss beats Vandy by three touchdowns if Matthews didn’t completely sell out all over that field in 95 degree heat...

Believe Matthews is a Payton Effort Guy...

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

i do see the logic, i am just stumped. how can you pay a QB so much money and not have protection as your #1 goal for that investment. I really am thinking the saints may want to just trade drew and get what they can and start over. you would be doing him a favor and me. i like him too much to watch him get creamed again next year. one time he will not get up.

he has lost his leading receiver sproils and his personal fav in moore. he is going to need more time in he pocket. i am getting a feeling we may have a suitor for PT at draft time. my greatest fear at this point. rookies on the left, right, middle and the backfield.

If Drew wanted protection, he could have stipulated he wanted Nicks signed and he took the balance (for what we paid Grubbs, there wasn't much difference), but Drew and Condon got their and Drew's got to live with it...

I can see keep veterans on offense, but on defense, I want young, faster, swarming, angry as a hornet defenders...

Maybe a saavy Linebacker and Safety to call the defense...

But Drew's gonna just have to make do...
