Similar in that he's a weak hitter or similar that he's a 43 OLB?!?

4-3 small frame and wont be able to add much muscle

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

WEAKNESSES: Not an elite athlete overall. A bit slow to 'shoot his gun' when ballcarriers are running at him and relies too much on a simple bull-rush when coming off the edge. Wasn't as disruptive as a senior, in part due to opponents game-planning to avoid him. However, he was also without 2013 first-round pick DL Ziggy Ansah occupying blockers in front of him.

Relies on instincts and efficiency, rather than physicality. Beats blockers to the action, rather than taking them on shedding violently and isn't an explosive tackler. Projects best as a traditional outside linebacker in the 4-3 alignment because of this lack of take-on mentality, though he has shown the ability to get to the quarterback.

Neaux, should we take a Center early, I'd want Weston Richburg; but I'd prefer to spend a later pick and take Tyler Larsen...

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

1. Ra'Shede Hageman DT Minnesota
I just don't see letting this guy go by us.
2 . Keith McGill CB Utah
Guy has size and is fluid
3. Jordon Matthes WR Vanderbilt
He falls in our lap
4. Marcus Martin C USC
With 2 pro-bowl gaurds on his sides this has the makings of run or pass written all over it.
5. Lorenzo Taliaferra RB Coastal Carolina
Payton likes small school guys and this one has size, speed and toughness not to mention he's 229 lbs. My thumper.
5. Andrew Jackson ILB Western Kentuckey
When a guy patterns his play around Ray Lewis and his presence is felt on the field I'm in.
My thinking is Ryan getting Byrd in the secondary and adding McGill in the draft our secondary is set. Adding Jackson at ILB with Lofon and the addition of Hageman at DT who can play multiple positions up front, running on us will be hard. Kind of like damn if you do, damned if you don't.
On O Payton sets the O-line straight with Martin at C gets a power run game going with PT, Ingram, Robinson, and Taliaferra opening up the play action for Brees and still gets a new toy in a sure handed Matthews to throw to that reminds me of a prime Colston. Now if any team still wants Graham I think we could get another TE in the draft one that is well rounded.

Some scouting reports question Ra'Shede Hageman commitment to the game and more of a workout warrior...

Jordan Matthews is probably who Payton has in mind after their interview; though I'm warming to Donte Moncrief...

Liked Marcus Martin early on as a late fourth round pick, but I'm cooling after his rise into the third round despite a mediocre combine display which wreaks of agent hype (know it's their job, but I don't want to be the buyer; now, Weston Richburg he's the goods and is the only Center I want before the 100th pick; after that Tyler Larsen is a geaux in the fifth round...

McGill definitely has the measurables and he had an interception at the Senior Bowl on a busted play; but he's had several injuries, including the Senior Bowl Week and has no history against elite WR and struggled at the Reeses Game against Matthews and pulled a hammy trying to keep up...

Lorenzo Taliaferro definitely has size, but I'm not sure his running skills are a match for our zone blocking scheme; he's more of a full back and not sure he's proven his hands are that great; other than the 3-cone drill, his measurables indicate him more of a UDFA; but I'm definitely down with mining the small schools for the gems...

I pointed him out last year as a surprise second rounder. A first i never saw coming. the issue with him is not so much dedication as the Gophers kept him on the field too much. they did not have the rotation. In the NFL i am sticking my neck out here i think he will thrive in a solid rotation.

Then again there maybe a grain of truth to desire or lack of. as a pass rushing DT, which the saints do not have, he may just be what the doctor order for the DL.

He is one of those player high risk high reward in the first. 50-59 as to whether or not the pick pays off. I could live with the pick but i would be holding my breath till i see what we got.
