Landry dropped 9 lbs and ran a 4.58 in the 40.

solid No. 2 option? upside is there and i give the kid credit for hanging in at Penn ST. after all the crap went down.

he now is in the mix with Lee and Benjamin now.

i would take him over Benjamin all day long.

IMO Robinson is more polished as a WR at this point. Lee has that JR year of stardom followed by a senior year of poor QB play. he should have come out last year.

I like the maturity and the mental toughness he showed at Penn St. on and off the field.

i could live with the pick.

Then again his pro day may get him drafted ahead of us and increase the chance of a nice player dropping into our laps. so i look at the pro day as a win win for the saints. :bng:

record number of WR taken in the first round this year? maybe

Aah theres my guy hagan, yesir... Seemed to answer all questions at his pro day.

I think he has number 1 written all over him..eventually. But to have him step in and be no. 2 and let kenny play the slot makes all the sense in the world at this point.

I agree with everything you said 100%, although i do like kelvin if he gets more consistent hands i would take allen over both lee and benjamin. I've watched lee a few times and put on the tape again once it was reported he was visiting, but i cant seem to get excited about him. Its not like allen's QB was any better and he faced the same situation as lee with mcgloin/barkley leaving school for the pros but Allen's production went way up even battling his own injuries and i felt the talent was better at USC.

Was reading an article about Allen Robinson being this years's Keenan Allen, flying under the radar. Pretty good read and tend to agree.

Yesir, win win for the saints at this point, guess its all on how you view it. Could definitely see that happening with WR's, all depends on how the board is layed out. Good stuff

You lost me when you posted Gil Brandt...

Gil Brandt still insists Tony Mandarich was not a good fit in the Packers offense...

Haha its not like he's praising the guy... He's just posting his numbers, which speaks for itself. Great numbers ...

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

Round 5 Russell Bodine i want

now if you guys are not into an immediate starter aka WESTON RICHBURG early on and want to wait i have narrowed down my list to one OC later in the draft.

Round 6 Tyler Larsen C Utah State 6-4 313

unknown yet has an solid outside chance of pushing for playing time in year one.

If your going to gamble gamble big time and go for the player that could give you the biggest rewards

so no WESTON RICHBURG

then i would settle with
Round 5 Russell Bodine OC/OG NC 6-3 310
Round 6 Tyler Larsen OC/OG Utah State 6-4 313

option 2 UDFA?
James Stone, OC/OG 6-3, 311

He keeps popping up for us on that mock draft site too.

Herrons weaknesses in this view do not make him sound a good prospect, sounds scared to get hit

OVERVIEW
Two-time honorable mention All-MWC (2012-13) selection. 2013: Started all 12 games. Led team with nine receiving touchdowns and was second on the team with 72 receptions and 937 yards. 2012: Played in and started eight games. Missed four games due to a shin injury. 2011: Played in 12 of 13 games with eight starts. 2010: Played in 10 of 12 games with one start.

ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Good athlete. Exceptional straight-line timed speed -- can accelerate and get on top of DBs vertically. Quick-footed. Above-average hands. Has return capability (despite not being used as a returner because of offensive value).

WEAKNESSES
Does not play fast. Marginal toughness -- does not like crossing the middle or extending across his frame. Drifts in his routes. Short-arms the ball. Does not adjust to or track the deep ball well. Lacks physical strength and is jarred on contact after the catch. Carries the ball loosely. Disinterested blocker, especially on the backside. Regularly matched up vs. inferior competition. Has been dinged a lot and long-term durability is a concern.

BOTTOM LINE
Very diminutive, outside receiver with the timed speed to threaten the field vertically and potentially contribute in the return game. Needs to prove he can bow up against better competition and is more than a track athlete.
