mental lapse are harder to fix than hands. that is the problem with Lee.

I would much rather a WR like Kevin Norwood who always has his head in the game than deal with a player that spaces out at times. I will go with 4.45 speed, solid hands and route running skill all day long over a WR that makes hold my breath and wondering if he has head on straight.

move the chains wins ever time in my book.

screw the highlight reels. they do not win championships.

Im really hoping with everything in me, that we do NOT draft marquise lee or someone selects him before our selection. Not saying the talent isnt there, but i dont see much further improvement in the future for him. Id much rather have latimer, robinson there, heck even martavis ha.

As for norwood hagan...this is the one rare player i believe we disagree on. Not because of talent or ability...but age. Gonna be a 25 year old rookie, not alot of time to improve before 30 rolls around. I'll take the young(er) legs with more explosiveness. But i agree with your assessment, as usual.

You're being too harsh on Lee. Dude was injured for half the season and when he came back he clearly wasn't at full strength. Mental lapse? Sorry hagan, I almost always agree with you on draft related stuff, and I have grown to respect your opinion, but you do not know what's going on inside Lee's head. It's unfair to say he has mental lapses. He was the best WR in college football in 2012 when he wasn't injured. Where were his mental lapses then?

I agree with you the less flashy WR who is consistent is better than the big play ability WR who may or may not show up for the game, that's why I 100% believe Jarvis Landry > Odell Beckham Jr.

Marqise Lee does not fit into that category though. He's actually a good route runner. He has the technical skills to go along with the crazy athleticism.

Top 10 realistic prospect options id love for our selection at 27:
(In no particular order)

1. Darqueze Dennard (real chance he "could" fall based on several analysts)
2. CJ Mosley (chance of a fall as well with shoulder concerns, but doubtful)
3. Jeremiah Attaochu
4. Ryan Shazier
5. Kyle Fuller
6. Oddell Beckham Jr.
7. Jason Verrett
8. Kyle Van Noy
9. Cody Latimer
10. Allen Robinson

Just my opinion and favorites of mine that have a chance of being there at 27. Id much rather stay put where we are in the 1st & draft defense then trade back into the 2nd & draft WR/C with our 2 selections.

thanks i respect your opinion also, i was expecting rebuttal on this one. I agree the talent and the skills are there. but even in 2012 in his record setting years he was good for two to three "how did he not catch that one" in a game. thats all i am saying. he was thrown to a ton. USC could not run one bit so he got a ton of throws. that itself is a disclaimer. law of averages? easier to catch 5 straight than 15 straight of good throws.

he would be a pick that gets a long sigh out me and lets see what happens. Vaccaro got the same reaction and i am still warming up to the pick. solid all around player but INTs is what i wanted lol. as a matter of fact i would still pick Buccannon to play SS and let Vaccaro keep doing what he was doing last year. get up on the line and man handle players and get inside their heads. he was much better at it than i thought he would be. one of the best i have seen in years. hell play 4 safeties every now again ;)

oh back on topic

the gamble is understandable. like i said the skills are there and not being bombarded every game may be just what he needs. but i would have to see more than few players come of the board to take him. but if the saints did pick him i could let time pass and give the kid a chance and yet another crow sandwich into the freezer with his name on it. i ate two last year :disgust: so i have room.

dam 25 and one foot in the grave,:p that why if he is around in the 4th that would be the reason. but no way will he be there when we pick in 4th i bet. of all the i guess third tier wr in the draft at this point he is pretty much the only one that you know exactly what you getting.

Fair enough on Lee.

And haha, I did not like the Vaccaro pick at first either. Probably because I remember the Texas Longhorns defense being AWFUL in 2012, and because of that I thought there was no way this guy is a good safety lol
I know that is not the best logic, but that's what my train of thought was. I definitely was wrong though, Vaccaro is a great player and we are lucky to have him.
