Chip Kelly says Pro Day attendance is about more than workouts | ProFootballTalk
Excerpt: "Instead, Kelly said he likes to visit college campuses so he can get the perspectives of all the people who spent the last few years with these prospects. According to Kelly, finding out how a low-level staffer in a college’s athletics department feels about a star player can go a long way toward judging what kind of person he is." Very good read about the scouting process... |

On Super Bowl trip, the Saints unearthed a gem named Jimmy Graham | Saints | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, LA
Excerpt: It was Graham’s coaches at the University of Miami who mentioned his name when the Saints asked them which Hurricanes player was most ready to perform at the pro level, even though he had played only one season of college football — as a backup. A little more than two months later, the Saints used a third-round draft pick, the 95th overall, to acquire Graham. Four years later, he was an Associated Press first-team All-Pro for the first time. Besides, plenty of talent at WR in round 2-3. Still think we trade up into round 2 or three this year. |
Re: 2014 NFL Draft
Great point JP. I heard Attachou on NFL radio this weekend discussing why he's so NFL ready. His college coach was an NFL coach who taught him how to study and prepare. I think this type of insight is often overlooked by the talking heads as many of us.
That's a kid worth trading up for! |

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
Reports are out Cooks may not be available at our pick. I do not want a wide receiver that we have to hope on, we need a sure thing. I'm hoping for Cooks, Verret, Denard, or Ford.
