this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Hard loss but not a bad loss. It was a hard fought game. Tampa Bay at home next week then we start the wildcard round starts. Best ball we have played on the road this 1/2 of the season....

Re: 10-5
We played like ass on offense but we also have to give credit where it's due. Carolina has one fine defense.
I don't pay much attention to the playoff picture but is the 2 seed out of the picture now? |

Re: 10-5
Wild card vs Chicago? Maybe Philly - we can win both of those.
Saints and 49ers wild card make for a couple of scary home games for the division champs that host them. Definitely a road for us... might take us back to Carolina and then its on to Seattle and then NY. |

But this was most definitely a bad loss. Don't look past the obvious in your quest for positives. We played horribly. The offense was just plain bad. The defense caved in the end, despite playing well prior to the end, if you forgive them for (a) the Panthers' longest pass play of the season and (b) the Panthers' longest running play of the year and (c) allowed some no-name to score his first TD of the season. Terrible. Just terrible. And most definitely a bad loss. |
