Peyton deserved to break the record. He had an entire half to keep trying had the refs not blown the call (yet again).

I think the reason the press didn't make more of it is because....

Manning has gone over 5,000 yards once in his much glorified career, but for Brees, it's become his standard now, not breaking 5,000 would be an off season for him.

I'd rather establish a run game than have Brees hit 5000K again. Brees is going to die if we don't have a good O-line.
