You're entitled to your opinion, but I just think a refs **** up being the only reason Peyton didn't get the record kind of sucks. Even then, I've only seen one angle where it didn't look like a forward pass, maybe the reviewers had a much better angle, I'm not sure. Someone previously stated at another angle it was a forward pass, so I'd also like to see that angle if anyone has a link. |

I suspect that you and I are polar opposites on more than just passing records. You are emotionally invested in a record that is not subjective, this is not an opinion based subject. It is based purely on empirical data. He either threw legal passes for more yards or he didn't. Absolutely nothing else matters. If it is ruled that the pass was not a legal pass then he didn't and the opinions of you and I are moot. Now there is a subjective aspect to this and Payton Manning coming out if the game with just one yard above Drew's record tells me two things. 1. He is an idiot. He let the referees decide. 2. He agrees that no one knows what would have happened on the next play. Manning him self chose not to take the risk of one more pass. Records are risk/reward. You don't break them and hold them playing safe football. |
