this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; For all the holding Seattle gets away with it, we still put up over 300 years on them. The Defense just needs tweaks. The O-Line needs a new RT and C, we ready for next season....

Re: We still Good
I think the tweaks were made by the end of the season. Add Kenny V in there and I don't see how they could get much better except for some depth in case of injuries.
I totally agree with you on the O-Line. Drew needs time. |

Re: We still Good
Here's what I think we need:
Job 1. Work on O-line pass and screen protection -- it really sucked MAJOR WIND this year Job 2. Secondary needs depth Job 3. Need to win the turnover diff. Need to work on sack, STRIP, FUMBLE RECOVERY AND INTERCEPTIONS. Hello. If RR can't coach this -- bring in somebody who can. Job 4. WR corp dropped way too many passes, were not fast enough on their routes, and did not fight for the freakin' ball -- I'm talking to you J. Graham, R. Meachum and L. Moore ( although he played better late season ). Job 5. Play-calling -- really needs some work -- it killed us in several games this season. Job 6. Drew needs to stop throwing f***ing interceptions. Period. The end. |
Shutdown defense in 2017 = Championship!

Everyone *****ed and said we needed to get someone in that teaches tackling first. We finally get a DC who worked on the fundamentals(tackling) and now we are *****ing to revert to a strip first defense? I'd rather less miss tackles over an occasional fumble any day... |

Analysts said that if we ever produced a top 10 D we would be unstoppable. Rob Ryan brought us to #4. They mere mention of getting rid of him is preposterous, absurd and ridiculous. It is time to face the facts, the offense let us down. I think d coordinators have figured us out, like they figure everything else(wildcat, read option) it is time to add new wrinkles. I think SP is so confident that even though he knows they have figured some things out, that he still wants to prove he can beat them with it. We should have been pounding the ball all year, that kept us in it and kept Seattle on their heels. Add a wrinkle of a power run game and maybe all the other stuff works. But it seems like the days of just winging it and putting it all on Drew's shoulders are over. He regressed towards the end of the year.

Re: We still Good
To be fair, the run game really didn't work until Armstead began starting and/or Ingram started getting more carries late. I'm going with Armstead though, the O-Line started playing tons better as he got more games in

Re: We still Good
Let's be honest, did we really try to run the ball with Ingram and Robinson- our power runners. Did they get 30 carries together like the last two weeks. No Ingram would get 6 to 8 carries. He is a volume runner he chips away at the d until he breaks loose.

Re: We still Good
Ingram started running like his ass was fire when it was all over the NFL that he was about to lose his frikkin job. Period. I'm glad he finally got that fire lit, and I hope he keeps it burning.
