I'd almost rather keep him for our 3 and 4 safety sets.
The more I think about it the more I agree. He's a good locker room guy and a leader and has his attributes. He may be bad in coverage but he is solidly above average against the run. When he got back from injury our run defense instantly got better. If we can find someone to start in his place and only use him on obvious running plays or in special situations and still manage to keep him for cheap I'm all for it.
