Okay, I am really ticked now!!!!!

But during the 1st week of the playoffs, of which we obviously have no shot, you are allowed to talk to coordinators of other teams.
Unless they are still in the playoffs, read everyone\'s wet dream Crennel.

And we all know though it is against the rules for teams to talk to opposing coordinators during the season
Sometimes I wonder. What kills me is that, after 2000 when we won our first playoff game, fans were screaming for Benson to give Haslett a contract extension. And Benson gave the fans what they wanted. Now, Benson has no vision, no care, and only cares about his money. With all the outrage that has come forth from the fans over the past two years, there is not a doubt in my mind that Haslett will be replaced after the end of the season, regardless of what happens from here on out. But by all means, grab your torches and pitchforks.

The waiting drove me mad....
I don't want to hear from those that know...
Everything has changed, absolutely nothing's changed

Eddie is a....draftnik?

Okay, I am really ticked now!!!!!

John Clayton said on the radio this morning that, with Wannstedt stepping down, Haslett tops the list of coaches most likely to be fired, but it won\'t happen until after the season is over, nor should it.
I\'d like to point out that future coaches will be watching how Benson handles this. To fly off the handle and fire Jim mid-season and embarrass him publicly screams of a Mickey-mouse organization. Firing him now gains us nothing but petty vengence for ripping our stinkin hearts out. Of course, that doesn\'t sound so bad to me, but cooler heads usually prevail. I don\'t have a problem waiting until the end of the season. You also make him work for his money instead of letting him fish and play golf on our dime while Venturi takes over.

You must have missed the new rules BNB. during the wild card round of the playoffs, coordinators are allowed to interview with other teams. This rule was created specifically cause some coaches in the league felt like they could not wait on Crennel and Weiss to be done with the playoffs to hire a coach last year and went in other directions after only interviewing them once. They extened the rule from one week to two meaning a coordinator can interview with a team more than once. In this window we would have ample opportunity to visit with Crennel and get something worked out, before the playoffs are over.

Got link?

Not that I don\'t trust you, but it makes no sense to me for a coordinator, who coaches a team in that is in the playoffs, to be running around doing interviews, when he should be concentrating on the upcoming playoff game.
I must not be the only one that doesn\'t know this rule, Clayton also said this morning that Al Davis was the only owner looney enough to wait until February to interview someone like Crennel.

Really? I certainly didn\'t, but my memory isn\'t that great anymore. I don\'t remember a whole lot of people talking about giving him an extension. Sure, there were a lot of people talking abou thow great he was and how he was the next big thing... but I don\'t remember people calling for an extension... just like I remember people loving AB, until he started to as for money. Then a lot of people said whoa... But I guess I\'ll go get the pitch fork I used to go after AB a while back.

Very interesting. Let\'s see what happens.

Here\'s your link BNB. Says playoff coaches with a first round bye can interview in the wild card round and all coaches are allowed to interview until the divisional round.

OK..nobody here is letting Haz off the hook. Yes he should be fired, but doing it midseason is WAAAY counterproductive. He will go at the end of the year, but come on. To drop the guy now is calling the rest of the season a wash without even trying (not that we do anyway). Still, look at the chaos at Florida now. Miami may as well not show up anymore either. That means potential FAs will be looking the only selling point MIA can give -- a blockbuster of a coach.

We can\'t talk to anyone yet, but we will. We need to do it right. Start with getting a great GM. He can find the coach we need. Who do you want pulling the trigger -- Mueller or even Ron Wolf or Benson alone? (not that that is who we will get)

Besides, Wanny DID have it coming. How do you have that defense and an 1800 yard rusher, but not make the playoffs?

You play in a division with the Superbowl Champs and very competitive teams unlike the division of the 13-3 Chiefs(Oakland and San D picked 1-2 in the draft) stealing playoff spots. Also Texans and Jags weren\'t that good last year, hello Indy. And Pittsburgh and Cleveland weren\'t good either. Hello Baltimore.
