I love this. And the WRs were ineffective, JG is soft and we're forcing the ball to him too much and the RBs are old and slow and over the hill and Brees' arm is shot and the O Line sucks. No wonder the offense is bottom of the barrel and we missed the playoffs again.

I agree.
Sproles is more likely to rip off a 40+ yard run than PT but teams see Sproles come in and set up knowing whats coming, whereas they have to defend both run and screen plays for PT.

No one said anything about not wanting him. I'd love to have him back but my wants and what the situation is seem to be a little different.

A lot of interest, but my guess the stumbling block is inheriting the contract. Saints are trying not to lose the dead money, even though it's 'only'' 750,000

That $750k is dead money for the Saints whether we trade him or release him.

Because that is how signing bonuses and or guaranteed money works. That 750k is 1/4 of his 3m signing bonus.

Guaranteed money, signing bonuses, always stay with the home team whether it's trade or release. Best case scenario for that dead money is that he is designated a post June 1st release and then it can be split over 2 years.
