Johnny Football vs Drew Brees

He may have the talent but I don't know if he has the work ethic required to be really good like Drew.

Unlike Tebow, he has the mechanics when he focuses and isn't trying to hurry. At times he has balance issues due to throwing off his back foot.

Then comes the big question like most players with god given ability. Can he work to take it to the next level.

There might be 234 other channels but half have infomercials and the other half barely hold my attention

Wish NFLN would expand their programming during the offseason

Manziel has a lot of Brett Favre's recklessness to his game. But without the elite elite arm strength that Brett had, Manziel won't be able to get away with a lot of the throws he did in college. If he doesn't refine his game, he's going to be a turnover machine at quarterback in the NFL.

If I had to compare him to anyone right now it would probably be Jake Locker.

Agreed.... When he gets an opportunity to start, his first season at least will be a Kapernick sort of first season, lots of legs and conservative on the throws until his decisions can be trusted. That is going to test his maturity. Can he make a whole season throttled back with out breaking rank or voicing his opinion if unfavorable.

Not easy going from Johnny Football to game manager...

If I'm Johnny Football, I hope to slide down the draft board and hope an average to good team picks him where he can learn and observe the game from the sideline for a year.

On the other hand if he goes to Cleveland/Jacksonville/Tennessee & thrown to the wolves from Day 1, the kid could be in big trouble.

Jeff George is who this guy reminds me of. He and Drew are "short" but that's it.
