I agree with the throwing angle but Johnny Football will ignite a team. It might take him a while to adapt to the pro's and he will need to be coached up, but his leadership cannot be taught.

Re: Johnny Football vs Drew Brees

Johnny Manziel has exhibited zero maturity or leadership yet. He is also the polar opposite of an NFL QB so far through college.

Not saying he can't be "fixed.....
Just saying there is a lot of work to do.

1. He is not a pocket passer and he very strongly favors rolling right. Drew Brees - Pocket passer.

2. He is a play maker but also an ad-lib QB, good luck game planing around that. Drew is a system QB and is easy to game plan around.

He will have a few good games at first, as soon as opposing DCs have enough tape to game plan for him, he's done.

If it maters I rarely watch college Football, I made sure if A&M was on this past season I was watching him. He is dynamic and electrifying but that isn't going to be an easy transition to the NFL at all.

On the comparison in the video, it's rather terrible. Drew is releasing with a 6'7" line in front of him, Manziel is on the rear of his motion with out a line in his face.

Manzeil reminds me so much of QB's like, Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell, Andre Ware etc

He is nothing like Brees.

Re: Johnny Football vs Drew Brees

I rarely ever agree with Babe Laufenberg (bearded guy in the video) of Dallas news but in this instance I think he is absolutely correct.
Johnny was an exciting college QB but running around like a keystone cop will not work at the NFL level. Coaching, film study, better pocket presence & awareness is something Johnny will have to work on to be an average Pro QB in my opinion.

The only thing remotely similar in Brees and Manziel is that they both were born in Texas.

HUGE step from where he was to where he's headed. I'm not saying the kid can't do it. What do I know? If he's successful, I agree with others here who think it will take a while. This kid is no Dan Marino, and he's certainly no Drew Brees.

Re: Johnny Football vs Drew Brees

I think at times he showed leadership qualities...in some of those game when they were getting their arses handed to them he rallied the offensive troops to get their heads back in the game. Now with that being said he does have a lot to learn and adjust to but I would take him over any of the QBs that are projected in the first round. I don't believe that any of them will be ready to play this year and in most drafts they are not 1st round QBs. I'm hoping that they have a run on QBs in the first round...better for us!!!
