I rarely ever agree with Babe Laufenberg (bearded guy in the video) of Dallas news but in this instance I think he is absolutely correct.
Johnny was an exciting college QB but running around like a keystone cop will not work at the NFL level. Coaching, film study, better pocket presence & awareness is something Johnny will have to work on to be an average Pro QB in my opinion.

The only thing remotely similar in Brees and Manziel is that they both were born in Texas.

HUGE step from where he was to where he's headed. I'm not saying the kid can't do it. What do I know? If he's successful, I agree with others here who think it will take a while. This kid is no Dan Marino, and he's certainly no Drew Brees.

I think at times he showed leadership qualities...in some of those game when they were getting their arses handed to them he rallied the offensive troops to get their heads back in the game. Now with that being said he does have a lot to learn and adjust to but I would take him over any of the QBs that are projected in the first round. I don't believe that any of them will be ready to play this year and in most drafts they are not 1st round QBs. I'm hoping that they have a run on QBs in the first round...better for us!!!

Until he plays in the NFL I cannot say he will be bad or he will be good. He will have to go into the right system.

If you follow the chain of all the stories I'll bet the first link has a swoosh on it.

Nike signed a QB to a huge endorsement deal before his pro day or he was ever drafted. They need to start recovering that revenue some how.

I hope he wins the lottery and never makes it into the NFL. It's not the players or owners that corrupt the league.

media darling. he is getting so pumped up by the media it is to the point i can not even stand to see or hear of him. when i do i change the channel

it is a so so year for top tier QB in the draft and they refuse to admit it. glamor positions gesshhhh

The teams in need of a QB should draft Manziel. He is the real deal. He is a difference maker. He will make plays on the field and he will put fans in the stadium. If Houston, Cleveland and Jacksonville pass on him, they will regret it. After an offseason of acting like a a privileged brat, he did everything right at A&M during the season. He has grown and matured. Is he completely ready for the NFL? No. Few rarely are and even for those it can be a bumpy first year. For anyone who thinks he compares to guys like Leaf, you don't know football.
