this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; What I like about him is that he's very durable ,creates separation, and is elusive. Good pick....

Re: In the First Round, Saints Pick Wide Reciever Brandin Cooks
Watch how he catches the ball in the highlights, theres no bobble, its great hand-eye coordination and he snags it out of the air with strong hands, love the pick
With an improved running game, stills and cooks are burning some defenses this year |

Re: In the First Round, Saints Pick Wide Reciever Brandin Cooks
I'm not in love with the pick, because I really wanted Dennard or Verrett. But I trust the front office knows what they're doing.
Part of me wonders if he's actually going to play more of the Sproles/Bush role than playing as a traditional wide receiver. He won't be lined up as a running back of course, but moving him around formations to get matchups, throwing him screens and slants and letting him run after the catch. |

I like Cooks, but I don't like giving up a 3rd rounder in a deep draft to get him. Therefore i say bad pick.

Re: Brandin Cooks
I'm on the fence. Kinda wanted someone taller but I can see his speed as a need. Definitely glad we got a WR. The first thing that came to mind for a split second when we moved up is Johnny Manziel. I am so glad that turd fell all the way to 22. If it weren't for him doing dumb **** like the money sign he might have been drafted higher.
