More important than stretching the defense which he can do immensely will be his ability to turn a 5 yd curl into an 80 yd TD, which he can also do. Get Jarvis Landry at 91 and our receivers core will be set. Landry and Cooks as our starting WR duo and it's the best duo in the league which combined with Graham and Brees pulling the trigger will equate to 50+ passing TD. Who Dat!
We don't have the pick at 91, we gave that up for cooks. At least Carolina took Benjamin, that makes me feel better.

Walters Grade:

New Orleans Saints: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State: A- Grade
The Saints are giving up a third-round pick to move up from No. 27 to 20. I'd say it's worth it, considering they landed the top receiver available. Wideout was a big need for New Orleans; Marques Colston is always banged up, while Lance Moore is gone. Brandin Cooks will take Moore's spot and will be a huge upgrade. It's almost scary to imagine the Saints' offense now with Cooks joining Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham. Sean Payton will have lots of fun with Cooks.

I don't know really. Not the guy I really wanted but seems to be a good player. I hope I'll get more excited over time.

He has a chip on his shoulder because of people knocking him because of height.

I kind of wanted Denard. Like I always say in Loomis I trust.

I also wanted Denard simply because he would have made our secondary air-tight but Hey if Cooks scores 2 against The Failcan'ts I'll quickly come around.

We still can address o-line and defense in this draft. Cooks is going to be a great slot receiver. Can't wait.

Re: In the First Round, Saints Pick Wide Reciever Brandin Cooks

Cooks has the legit 4.3 speed to stretch the field if he pleases.

Cooks is also a stellar route-running technician that can drive defenses crazy on 3rd down.

It's rare for a slot WR to have both of those traits. Usually they're either just speedsters or good route runners. Not very many guys (if any) have both. Cooks does.
