Re: UDFA Signings
Top of the List has to be Christian Jones......
|
Re: UDFA Signings
I'm hoping for Coleman from Cal and Shayne Skov, but I dunno if the Stanford product is a fit.

Re: UDFA Signings
There are TONS of good players that went undrafted. This is gonna be a fun night! Come on Christian Jones.
|
Re: UDFA Signings
Seahawks signed Dion Bailey. Damn it.

Re: UDFA Signings
Hahaha Another safety
Katherine Terrell @Kat_Terrell 42s S Pierre Warren indicates via Twitter he signed with the Saints ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Good size and arm length. Nice athleticism and range. Flashes the ability play off the hash, get over the top and break up throws. Productive on the ball, including five INTs as a junior. WEAKNESSES Keeps his eyes glued to the backfield and is vulnerable to quarterback manipulation. Raw recognition, instincts and anticipation. Lasso/grab-and-drag tackler. Turns down some contact. Did not test well -- average timed speed, pedestrian shuttle and three-cone times and poor strength (eight bench press reps). Marginal pro-day positional workout. DRAFT PROJECTION Priority free agent BOTTOM LINE Lean, long-armed, finesse free safety who left I-AA JSU a year early despite his status as a fringe prospect. At his best in deep zone coverage, but deficient strength, physicality and instincts will turn some teams off, and he does not project as a core special-teams contributor. |
Re: UDFA Signings
come on get some of that oL talent out there

Re: UDFA Signings

Re: UDFA Signings
Ty Zimmerman
School: Kansas State Position: S Height: 6-1 Weight: 198 40: 4.55 Year: 5Sr Positive: Four-year starter awarded all-conference honors since his sophomore season. Struggled with leg and shoulder injuries last season but still finished with 74 tackles, 3 INTs, and 4 PBUs. Junior numbers included 50 tackles and 5 interceptions. Smart, aggressive safety best playing downhill. Patient, quickly locates the ball, and takes good angles to the action. Aggressive, efficient, and wraps up when tackling. Effective facing the action, remains disciplined with assignments, and works well with cornerbacks. Negative: Lacks overall speed, range, and a liability in deep coverage. Marginal athlete. Analysis: Zimmerman played smart, physical football and got the most out of his ability. He's scheme specific and comes with limited upside but would do well in a zone system and on special teams. |
Re: UDFA Signings
Zimmerman is one of those high IQ players. this is going like the last day of the draft. what in the heck are they doing?
|
Re: UDFA Signings
Looks like we are going to run a 11 safety set at times.
|
Re: UDFA Signings
Cam Jordan is going to play up front on his own and we will play 10 DBs

Oklahoma prep who rushed for 2,134 yards and 34 touchdowns as a senior. Initially went to Kansas State in 2009 but transferred after one redshirt year in order to see more playing time. Walked on at Sam Houston State during the summer of 2010 and soon became the team’s starter. Went on to lead the Southland Conference in rushing as a freshman, starting 10 games and rushing 172 times for 948 yards (5.5-yard average) and 13 touchdowns with 11 receptions for 24 yards (2.2) and no touchdowns. Missed one game with an undisclosed injury. Broke out in 2011, racking up 298 rushes for 1,644 yards (5.5) and 22 TDs and 34 catches for 414 yards (12.2) and two TDs in 15 starts. Had 2,058 all-purpose yards in earning conference player of the year honors. Rushed for 287 yards against Montana in the FCS semifinal game. Repeated as Southland Player of the Year in 2012, piling up 288 rushes for 1,642 yards (5.7) and 17 TDs and 13 catches for 128 yards (9.8) and one TD in 15 starts. Despite battling a nagging foot injury in 2013, he played in 14 games (13 starts) and rushed 241 times for 1,430 yards (5.9) and 14 TDs and had six catches for 63 yards (10.5) and one TD. The three-time Walter Payton Award finalist became the first Sam Houston player to earn first-team all-league honors four times. Was the first Southland Conference running back to gain more than 5,000 yards and score more than 400 points and holds school records in rushing yards (5,664), carries (999), all-purpose yards (6,293), touchdowns (70) and 100-yard games (30). Finished his career in the FCS all-time top 10 in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and scoring. ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Thickly built with a low center of gravity. Good run vision and patience allowing holes to develop. Drives his legs on contact. Rose to the occasion vs. better competition (see Texas A&M). Very durable. Dedicated gym rat. Very gregarious, well-respected personality. WEAKNESSES Has very small hands. Had 999 college carries and took a lot of hits. Average creativity -- not dynamic and does not string moves together. Lacks top-end speed to pull away from the pack. Not a powerful tackle-breaker and often goes down on initial contact (average yards after contact). Does not create his own hole. Will need work in pass protection. DRAFT PROJECTION Priority free agent BOTTOM LINE Tough, competitive, hard-nosed runner with the eyes, instincts and intangibles to earn a role. Has make-it qualities that could endear him to a coaching staff and add life to a locker room. |

Chidera Uzo-Diribe NFL Draft 2014: Highlights, Scouting Report and More By Darren Page , Featured Columnist Apr 9, 2014 NEXT ARTICLE »Use your ← → (arrow) keys to browse more stories Chidera Uzo-Diribe NFL Draft 2014: Highlights, Scouting Report and MoreDoug Pensinger/Getty Images 570 Reads 1 Comments Chidera Uzo-Diribe (HT: 6’2 1/4” WT: 252 lbs) Positives Plays with controlled athleticism. Sufficiently quick first step off the ball from a two-point stance. Keeps pads low to play with proper leverage. Has some natural wiggle that gives heavy-footed pass-rushers trouble. Can dip his shoulder and turn a corner with flexibility. Knows how to convert speed to power, just lacks the build and punch for it. Has a burst to close on the quarterback once he works into space. Attacks the football when he gets home, has a track record of forcing fumbles. Comfortable dropping from the line of scrimmage into coverage with fluid movement in space. Uses quick first step to shoot gaps and can disrupt the backfield on occasion. Shows flashes of controlled violence, not a complete pushover. Tracks ball-carriers in the open field well by breaking down and maintaining pursuit leverage. Experienced player with 29 career starts for Colorado. Negatives Slow play recognition and anticipation. Lacks functional strength in both pass and run game. Remarkably slow off the ball from a two-point stance, poor snap anticipation. Limited to finesse rush moves entirely. Gets wedged off his rush arcs too easily. Struggles against tackles who take aggressive angles in pass protection and cut down his space. Doesn’t have a ton of ideas in terms of pass-rushing moves. Will try too many swim moves and expose his chest to the hands of pass-blockers. Has a tendency to waste steps in his initial move, indecisive. Lacks sand in his pants to hold his ground against drive blocks. Insufficient upper-body strength to shed blocks in a timely fashion. Handled by tight ends in the run game. Does a poor job of setting a hard edge to contain perimeter runs. Doesn’t make enough plays in pursuit as a run defender, questionable motor. Collegiate Statistics Year Team Tackles TFL Sacks FF PD 2010 Colorado 11 4 3.5 1 0 2011 Colorado 18 7 5.5 3 0 2012 Colorado 43 10 7 1 2 2013 Colorado 46 11 4 5 4 CUBuffs.com - Official Athletics Web site of the University of Colorado Personal Notes Rivals.com rated him as a 3-star prospect and the 37th-ranked weak-side DE in recruiting class of 2010. Suffered a fractured toe that required surgery to insert a pin before sophomore season. Hampered by a high ankle sprain but played through it as a junior. Selected as a team captain in 2013 by his teammates. Cousin of Atlanta Falcons defensive end Osi Umenyiora. Ratings Chart Graph made at nces.ed.gov. Overall Chidera Uzo-Diribe is an interesting edge prospect because he has flashes of athletic brilliance that show promise as an NFL player. The whole does not match the sum of the parts, though. When it comes down to it, Uzo-Diribe was not impressively productive as a pass-rusher at the collegiate level. Considering his deficiencies against the run, that’s alarming. His need to add bulk and strength makes him more of a project than an immediate contributor. In terms of position, his NFL fit is no real mystery. Uzo-Diribe is a 3-4 outside linebacker through and through. His comfort playing from on his feet is obvious and having a space-eating defensive end in front of him would do a world of good. |
