Cornerback

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; after Lewis, the entire CB depth chart is a giant question mark Literally, spots 2-6 are up for grabs; I would not be surprised by any combination or cut...

Corey White did 'okay' but his mental lapses nearly cost us two games! he intercepted kaepernick in a huge game in primetime and then fumbled through the endzone

plus add that to nearly single handedly losing the eagles playoff game for us once lewis got hurt, I think coreys still got a ways to go before he can be depended on fully

Re: Cornerback

We have a lot of bodies at CB and some are sure to be decent depth but besides Lewis and maybe White the jury is out. We don't know what Bailey has left and he could be cut in camp. Baptiste is a project and will most likely take a couple of years to come into his own. Besides that everyone else is pretty much blah. The only real starter I see is Lewis.

Re: Cornerback

Lewis, SJB, White, Sweeting. Sunseri locks down the final roster spot as a S/Slot-Nickel CB/Special teams ace. Bailey is too old and Robinson makes too much money for a backup.

There is a good chance that we keep six corners. We'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Cornerback

I have no idea what people have been watching on Corey White. He isn't in any shape or form ready to be a starter @ CB in the NFL. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him amongst the final cuts. IMHO He is Bad. He is always out of position.

he does not belong outside at this point for sure. in the nickle or dime is were he is best at this point in time. that is were you really like his run support and open field tackling. IMO he has been pushing it and too many risks to make plays. On the outside this is really a weakness because he gave up position to many times way to easily.

IMO he seems to have a much better grasp of playing inside and has yet to learn the fine art of positioning when asked to play outside. Which is twice as important than play nickle or dime.

He may have learned a valuable lesson last year after being made a fool of more than once in Philli. Humiliation can be a great motivator.
