this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; For what it is worth I have also recently heard that Mike Shanahan might be on the outs in Denver and that Charlie Weiss has already said that he is very interested in the New Orleans job, hopefully he will ...

the only thing i do not like about shanahan is that his running game does not utilize mcallister type backs.... mcallister needs a fullback type running attack..... shan likes one back with pulling linemen. Our linemen are entirely too big to pull very well and it woukd take a while to get the personel in there for his style offense (lighter and quicker linemen) ...how can our guys pull correctly if they cant stop false starting...

i just really want to have fun watching them play again..... i really miss the good old days where they sucked ass, but did it with as much dignity as possible....
now we have a half hearted QB who does just enough not to get benched and a wideout whos jerks around like he is having a siezure after a first down (despite the fact we are losing... i do think he is a good player though)...i mean, everytime the defense comes out you are just wondering how the other team will score next.... i have not watched them much this year because i just cant... lets hope whoever is brought in will bring back that little glimmer of the possiblity that we might actually come close a victory! |

POtential coaches list
This is a pretty depressing list.
Jimmy Johnson, Marv Levy, Dan Reeves??? I don\'t want to be the next team to drag some old goat out of the pasture and expect the moon from them. Jim Fass-hole, Butch Davis, Steve Spurrier, Dave Wannstedt, Ron Zook, Ty Willingham??? Oh great, proven FAILURES! That\'s just what we need ... more disappointment. Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Charlie Weiss??? Overrated, overrated, overrated... Jeff Tedford, Scott Linehan??? I can\'t knock these guys, I have no idea who they are... I fear we\'d be unable to get any of New England\'s assistants, but Crennel might be nice. He\'s a bit older than I\'d like for a new head coach, but I suppose he\'d be a start. Gary Kubiak is an interesting idea, especially since we\'re stuck with Aaron Brooks for a few years, and Kubiak might be able to work with him. AB\'s just about getting old enough that the \"old dog, new tricks\" thing may apply, but I wouldn\'t object to seeing what Kubiak could get out of him. I don\'t have any ideas of my own, I just like disagreeing with others on this one! :P I\'m afraid whoever we hire is gonna be another disaster, but I\'m willing to give just about anyone a chance at this point. |

Shananhan would be a major asset. I would find it hard to believe that Denver would allow him to go though. Where did this come from? I question why Jimmy Johnson was placed on the \"NO\" colum though. I would love to see the guy take over. He single handedly turned Dallas around but eventually had to give in to the owner who has done nothing but break that team apart ever since. Shanahan or Johnson are my first two.

I don\'t think shanahan will be fired or out of there until Denver collapses. Its not that he has a knack at picking great RB\'s its the fact that he has a knack for GREAT offensive lines. He would be great for us... let him mold this team into what he has done in Denver.
Reeves is old and a hasslet oops my bad, has been. Only thing talent wise in Atlanta was vick and he had to run him. Mora brings in a decent D and a decent game plan. That Atlanta team is going to be good, they are only scratching the surface now. Fassel I kind of like here as well. |
