Actually isolated out in space is better, there will be maybe one or two players in the entire league who will be able to stay with him throughout a game...

This could be Payton's "Jerry Rice" type difference maker...

Fortt makes the team ahead of Reddick?
Powell makes the team ahead of Butler?

I haven't heard anything about any of them from camp. (Utah is an NFL black hole)
What have you heard?

Re: 2014 New Orleans Saints: Depth Chart

Cook will not have a spot on the field this year.

mark my words !

***he will be like Bush. that boy will be running all over the place even before the ball is snapped. 300+ yards in motion alone per game till season end. no way will have just one position. he is going to line up all over the place. SP loves messing with defenses and he has a new toy play with

Yes; really like Reddick, but Fortt is a better athlete and will be able to push as a starter after a year of development...would like to keep both, but Humber has really developed into a quality linebacker and excellent special teamer...

The argument for Haralson and Powell over Butler is more of a Haralson/Butler debate and we've got a proven with Haralson in that spot with chemistry, effectiveness last season; further, cutting Butler will save 1.5 mil against the salary cap per (google OverTheCap Saints); Powell has 5-Star athleticism but was ill-advised to re: injured knee at Florida; so he can be a great special teamer and could see some special pass rush packages this year on a draftee pay scale...

Check out WWL-TV online, they've got some nice video clips/footage; plus one of our own, zachsaints52 has been sending some great pics and commentary...

Trying to find where he is doing a real good job of avoiding/dislodging from jams at the line at camp...

Re: 2014 New Orleans Saints: Depth Chart

Hey ZachSaints52,
How are special teams play looking thus far? Guys getting off the line quickly? Staying in their lanes? Anyone stand out thus far?

Your thoughts and insight are appreciated since you are 'up close'.

Re: 2014 New Orleans Saints: Depth Chart

There hasn’t been much buzz around (Marcus) Ball this summer since he has been running with the third string. And Galette said he knew Ball was disappointed by his start in OTAs. But the former Canadian Football League standout stepped up in his biggest audition yet. He showed great instincts on the interception, shooting in front of Cooks to pick off McCown. He also had a sack on a blitz and a nice run stop. Ball even got the crowd involved, turning and yelling to the “Who Dats!” “The one thing I would say based on the film study was his ability to tackle in the open field, and he has really good football instincts. The interception he had today was a good example of that,” said head coach Sean Payton, who credited player personnel director Ryan Pace and the scouts. “The ball kind of finds him, and it did a lot when we watched the tape. He was very, very productive in the CFL, and I think he has a chance to be a real good special teams player.” - Mike Triplett

Had hoped this guy would come in and earned a roster spot; reading this, my optimism has returned; for everyone that wanted Louisville Safety Calvin Pryor, this is our FA/CFL answer...
