Revisiting Seattle: When the Saints Nearly Broke the Legion of Boom
“They beat us,” a friend of mine says. He’s sitting across from me outside the CC’s on Esplanade. “They outplayed us and beat us. But if they say they weren’t worried, they’re full of ****.” He drinks his iced coffee. “That insane Seattle weather clears up. Our strategy has worn their D down a little. Suddenly we’re off. Boom! Boom! Boom! Right down the field.” He mimes rapid-fire Drew Brees passes with one hand.
“The stadium goes completely silent twice,” he continues. “Boom, boom, touchdown, and then the two point conversion shut them the hell up for the first time the entire game. The second time was when we recovered the onsides kick. They couldn’t believe it.” He rests his hands on the top of his head, mimicking the anxiety of a Seattle fan who watched the game from a nearby seat at CenturyLink Field. “This Seattle fan stands there and says, ‘This can’t be happening.’” My friend smiles. “Yeah. They were worried. I hope we get them in the Dome this year in the playoffs. Because we will destroy them.” When the Saints Broke the Legion of Boom | B&G |

We'll kill 'em in the dome, I have no doubt.

Re: Revisiting Seattle: When the Saints Nearly Broke the Legion of Boom
the refs seem to throw more PIs in the dome for some reason
I recall Colston getting mobbed in the first drive vs the Panthers huge boos rang out after that the refs were calling it not only our offense came alive our defense kept us in the Seattle game two beast mode runs and that third down spectacular catch were enough we learned a lot in that game and were much more prepared going in I hate seeing weather being such a big factor we will be ready in 2014 here or there I'll take either and bus fare to Arizona |

Re: Revisiting Seattle: When the Saints Nearly Broke the Legion of Boom
down the stretch when it mattered most
the defense failed: with 3:36 left to play 01:11 from SEA 38 in 4 plays covering 62 Touchdown M.Lynch left end for 31 yards, TOUCHDOWN. lynch has open field all the way to the end zone that was the back breaker. when Roy Boy can win games like this then i will be happy. till then it is a replay of cowgirl blue print of years gone bye Roy Boy failed at the end of the game. my #1 concern with his hiring, closing out big games. 3 Qrts with a score ? unforgivable no matter the defense you face matters not is Colston was told to do a flee flicker at the end of the game instead of stepping out. Playoff football 3s are huge on the road. SP must get this through his head. They aint pretty but they give you a chance to win in the end |

Re: Revisiting Seattle: When the Saints Nearly Broke the Legion of Boom
The Seahawks were the better team and deserved to win.
That being said, Colston owned the Legion of Talk in the second half and Robinson and Ingram were running the ball well. They only lost by 8 and were driving when time ran out. Nothing to be ashamed of. This season the Saints defense should be better with Byrd and Robinson. This will be the second year in Ryan's system. The Saints offense should be better too. Stills should get more involved and Cook gives Payton a new toy to pull defenders around the field. This season they play in the Dome. I like the Saints chances. |
