Every kicker is on the bubble
I think this is INgrams last shot. I don't see him being on the training camp bubble but an in season trade is a possibility if he starts the season like he normally does. In any case he needs to pick up where he left off last year.
I do think Payton is going to be more committed to the run this season and Ingram will have a chance to put the "he just needs carries" theory to the test.
Don't we say we are gonna run the ball more every year? We did it well in 09. I think we need to do it well again to get into and go far in the playoffs.

He also had a BIG FAT FUMBLE in the palyoffs that put us in a huge hole. We likely would have been able to win if not for that. Can't judge him on one play, but he can't keep that stuff up either.

Thats odd, no one blames PT for his fumble against San Fran a couple years ago. We likely would have been able to win if not for that

^ PT was knocked out though. Hard to blame a guy for not holding the ball when he is literally unconscious.

I don't judge Ingram based on that one fumble. I will say that we have gone into offseasons before believing that he has turned the corner (2012 most notably) and he fell flat on his face. Pretty safe to say he's on his last chance.

Ingram didn't fumble all through the regular season and had one when a guys helmet hit the ball in the playoff game
Unfortunately it happened but the fact of "we could have won that game" stretches far beyond ingrams fumble - Brees missed several wide open receivers in that game, Jimmy Graham dropped at least 3 passes and the defense was on the field entirely too long

Mistakes happen but one fumble has not jeapordised Ingram's chances, after this season he will most likely get an extension for 2 more years anyway because he knows the offense and we'll be able to sign him for a decent amount

I wasn't referring to his one fumble, I was referring to his history of inconsistent play. I want to believe he's turned it around. We'll soon find out.

There was NOTHING inconsistent about his play.

When he was surrounded and pummeled by 3 defenders 3 yards behind the LOS, he didn't gain much.

When the O-line actually blocked, he performed well.

Re: Which players are on the bubble?

Bubble Players

Marcel Jones - been injured and on the practice squad. If he doesn't prove himself this pre-season, I think he gets the axe with other talent around

Travaris Cadet - with the beast that is Khiry Robinson, we have three legitimate running backs. Plus Brandin Cooks can fill the "Sproles" role for this team, so the 4th running back spot may be negated, allowing someone else at another position to make the team instead

Kenyuta Dawson - a lot of young players at the OLB position. Dawson could be cut allowing someone like Ronald Powell the opportunity to show what he can do

Corey White - with the staff playing him at Safety this offseason, does that mean they don't necessarily have the confidence in him going forward as a #2-4 CB? If so, with so much competition at Safety, and some dewcent players at CB, White could find himself out of a job if other players step their game up and he doesn't

Hmm, not so sure about that PVoodoo, we were already in a hole before that fumble. Seattle smothered us from start to finish. I just can't chalk up a loss to one player.

I'm not trying to give him a pass, however statistically speaking Roll tide isn't a fumbler. Maybe 2 his entire career?

Not getting into another Ingram discussion, let's just say we disagree on some points and leave it there.
