Re: We got fat and sassy this offseason
The Greenbriar Resort was supposed to be a refreshing change of pace. Cooler temperatures should've turned into longer, more effective practices....in theory anyways. I can't really point the finger to anyone or anything in particular. I do know that, for some reason, the fire on both sides is not there. Say what you want about our corners, and trust me, I know they're not great, but our defensive woes point to D line and coaching. Offensively, we've lost that electric, well executed play making. Although we have a mediocre O line, we have all the tools to be a really good offense. Maybe Sean has lost the team for whatever reason. All I can say is I look at it like this.... This is not the first time Sean has had a losing team. I have faith that we will rebound. We may have to wait until next year. I usually wait till at least half the season to make an assessment on a team, but I don't have much optimism with this team and that's OK. I know there are some seasons where the fortune isn't there for some teams. I will, however ,continue to watch every game faithfully as I always have and hope for the best. If anything,we'll just have a great spot in the draft next year!

Re: We got fat and sassy this offseason
This offseason I was reading how Arizona players are sweating (big temperatures) and having difficult time in training camp. On the other side we were having a great time in Greenbriar. They are 3:0 we are 1:3.

I didn't think Lewis did that bad overall against Bryant. The extreme lack of pressure is just letting everyone we play pick us apart at will. Hell there were a few times we couldn't even get the right amount of players on the field defensively.

Re: We got fat and sassy this offseason
And don't forget, the one practice they had at Greenbriar that was IN THE RAIN, they looked absolutely terrible according to everyone who saw it, including Payton.
New Orleans Saints trudge through rainy, sloppy practice on Monday afternoon | NOLA.com Remember this article, ^^^^^^^ when they now have to go on the road to win someplace like Tampa or Carolina or Philly or Seattle, and it's do-or-die because of the "easy" games they lost early in the season. They couldn't even score on the Cowboys D, with the roof on and climate control and all the comfy amenities. Does anybody really believe that this offense can perform better than they did last night, if it were in a rainstorm or sleet? |

Re: We got fat and sassy this offseason
Once again, I'm not scapegoating White, I didn't say he was the reason that the passing D was awful, but White has been inconsistent. Re-watching film, I think some of it might be the scheme, he's still playing way too deep. That still doesn't explain why he was routinely out of position, chasing the rec last night. Watch the game highlights on NFL.com and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. With 9:40 left in the third the Cowboys run play action, White bites hard and doesn't even bother looking for Williams (looks like they're in man coverage too). He just whips his head around and b-lines it towards the endzone, Byrd comes down and makes the tackle. Even on Williams' first td he bit on a double move, missed his jam and gave up the inside for an easy TD. Byrd, who was lined up on the other side, comes across and misses the break up/lays Williams out.

Re: We got fat and sassy this offseason
Sean Payton is the head coach... It all falls on him and his Staff... Prob isn't the problem.... C.White isn't the problem... Our game plans both offense and defense have sucked... Payton needs to get his coaches together and they need to figure out something... because if something isn't changed its going to be a long season.....
