Around half the draft picks don't cut it. You can't hit homers unless you swing and miss a few.

This I would agree with in most cases. But the guy already had an injury history when they picked him, and he subsequently gets hurt again and is now gone. It never made much sense to me, and definitely was a wasted pick even by 4th round standards.
