Should we try to trade Brooks while there is still value and maybe get a pick. I don't know what we could get for him, but there are some teams out there in dire need of a QB. I think we should do everything we can to keep Horn. He is one of the most consistant players we have as far as effort and motivation is concerned. I think Howard would be another player to move. What do yall think?

Definitely trade Brooks. At this point, there are many \"competent\" qbs who could take his place. All I hear is, the o-line this and the o-line that, and I was at the Cowboys game where Brooks had NO PASS RUSH on him and he was still bad-terrible. And the red zone turnovers are eating me alive. Lose the bum. Bring someone else in, I almost don\'t care who I am so tired of Brooks. If we are not gonna get rid of him, chnage the offense and have him in the shotgun more. He is terrible from under center. The Vikings don;t seem to have too much trouble with a running game even though they have Culpepper in the shotgun a lot.

Have to keep Horn. Hopefully he will partially restructure but if not, pay the man. He deserves it. And Howard has been strong when he has been healthy. I wanted to trade him earlier but he has 8.5 sacks and is one of the team leaders in less games. He has also looked good at times at DT. Maybe he can get a little stronger and take over that spot like a La\'Roi Glover.

Small rant.

When the team was 4-8 almost 4 weeks ago I think this may have been an appropriate thread. However the team has rallied to win 3 straight with a chance to win a 4th, beat the Panthers, and get into the playoffs.

In short, now is not the time to be talking about offseason moves. We\'ll have 6 months to talk about offseason moves.

This thread should be tabled until the season is over.

Just my humble opinion.

No problem with that opinion. Board was kinda slow so I was trying to get something going. I think I am already in withdrawals from fantasy football. I needed a fix.

Well let\'s do some work against insanity. We\'ve lost 4 straight to the Panthers. So let\'s presume if we do the same things against them that we have done in the last 2 calendar years we will get the same result.

So what can this team that we have now do different against the Panthers to change the result?

My first suggestion is to to double cover Muhammad all over the field with McKenzie and a safety wherever he goes. Force Jake to find another target.

Any others? Especially our offensive side of the ball vs. that tough Panther D?

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

T\'were I King Jimmy the Blond, the first thing that I\'d tell Carl the Offensive coordination, masked as Mike, is to set in motion a two minute offense scheme that plays like it\'s down 20-0 in the first 5 full minutes of play. Assuming that works, then continue it till Carolina adjusts to it and then go to another scheme. I would not call a 5 step drop pattern the entire game. 1-3 steps would be all that I\'d allow Fumbles to make. Throw the ball 4-6 yards with a huge amount of run in between. Carolina is not that good on defensing a up the gut run. We used to play a great zone trap scheme that cut Deuce loose with T-Smith in the lead. We have that same power in Karney. About the time that was shut down, then go to the middle passing game to Stallworth only for about 5 straight plays. Then fake and throw to Joe. That takes the predictability out of things. The problem is that Carl/AKA Mike can\'t put that scheme over to Fumbles.

On D. McKenzie would be on Muhhammand like a bad habit all day long. Also, Jake would see a lot of Fast Freddie Thomas, Smith, and Colby from being blitzed.

The only problem RDOX is even a 5 step drop for Brooks is like an 8 step drop for any other qb. Just put him in the shotgun so at most, he will only have to take one step. IF he still runs out the pocket and throws balls in the dirt or into double coverage, just drink or medicate yourself until next season and maybe we won\'t have him as our only option again.
