As for him being paid, his contract was just as much for what he has already done by helping us get to a SB than what he is going to do in the future. We have always had a high risk high reward type offense and now age and the talent level of a lot of our players are making it difficult for us to continue that with winning results. |

Re: Brees killed us with his INT
some adults realize that any given team can win on any given sunday.
most adults can't qualify to play or coach. most would be crushed on the field in one play. there would be no NFL if the average guy was on any given team. think of it as roger goodell going out for a pass. what is very common is for average human beings to judge NFL teams, coaches and players. that is akin to telling a pilot how to fly a plane when you don't have a license. those opinions don't amount to a pile of diddleysquat in a hurricane. no one player can be faulted. it is a team sport. there are many instances in every game, every weekend that "one guy" messes up, but they can't really be faulted. look at all the good **** they do. none of us can, or have... fought with a team through a NFL season much less have any of us won a super bowl. we can't really relate to what they experience. we don't all think the same. i don't tell pilots how to fly a plane but i'll tell fans they're not qualified to judge a pilot. two dat. |

Re: Brees killed us with his INT
Effort was good yesterday. Execution was bad in key moments. Refs were horrible. KRob had 3 plays in the first half. A hard run for a first down. A hard run and fumble. And a pass play. Ridiculous. Feed the hot guy. I know Detroits run defense is good. But, you have to make them play the run. You have to make the DLine come off blocks and tackle. You have to not let them just pin their ears back and rush every play. You have to make the LB's flow and tackle. Not just blitz or drop back. You have to make the safties look in the backfield and come up closer to the line. Not just immediately drop in coverage. The Saints need to set up the pass with the run. Payton does not and apparantly never will get this. I understand everyone's disappointment in the Brees pick. He's great. But, he's asked to do TOO much. He shouldn't have it ALL on his shoulders. That's Payton's fault. The Cowboys and and their coach get it. Run the ball. Run to set up the pass. Run the ball and keep a less than talented defense off the field as much as possible. Don't be so predictable and put your talented QB in better positions to make plays. The good news is these things can be improved/fixed and with the NFC not going through Seattle, and playing in a horrible division, the door is still WIDE OPEN.

Re: Brees killed us with his INT
It seems the Saints team is contrary this season. So contrary that it is addling the brains of Who Dats.
We see that the passing game is working really well, but we go into meltdown for rushing plays when rushing plays up to that stage of the game has stagnated the offense. It is not the type of play, on offense or defense, that is killing us. It is the execution and errors. The game is very different if Corey White just get his hands on the pass to Tate, if Drew Brees throws the ball out of bounds when under pressure, etc. |
