Speed is needed back there for sure, we need a sub 4.5 at safety.

we need speed at LB dramatically too! Lofton had a good game, but Hawthorne could use a replacement...

I actually think that Lofton played great in this game. He had some nice tackles and stops when he was in coverage. We coul'd use better but he was one of the bright spots today on D.

we need depth and talent so we can freaking rotate players through out the game to keep people fresh. It is hard to judge players when they are on the field some 90% of the time. our starters log to much time on the field especially up front. the saints have down a poor job of getting quality back ups on this team. so raging players seems pointless when they are run into the ground game after game.

but i am getting tired of saying that year after year.

can anyone on the defense be upgraded? sure. there are only a couple that are truly keepers long term. given the facts stated above.
