I don't know the details, but I did read somewhere that the Saints have an out clause in Byrd's contract. I have no idea what that is or even if its true, I just remember reading about it a while back.

If it is true I'd be very surprised if pulled a move like that on such a big investment

Still it could free up some much needed cap space if Byrd continued to struggle with us.
