The FS Conundrum
Since we currently don't have a single healthy free safety on the roster let's talk about our options.
I saw the other thread talking about Marcus Ball getting the start and that scares the heck out of me. He strikes me as purely a traditional strong safety that has been put in the old Roman Harper role. I think Corey White got some reps at safety during training camp which seems fortuitous on our coaching staffs part. Problem is that we're already pretty weak at CB as is so in this scenario we'd see a whole lot more Dixon/P Rob and maybe even some Jean-Baptiste. A lot of people want Pierre Warren back. That's not a bad idea. I don't think the coaching staff disliked him... We were just set at FS with Byrd and Bush. Any free agents out there worth a look? I know Jordan Pugh was with us last season. Today's tryout Tuesday so we'll find out soon who might be under consideration. Let's hear your thoughts. |
