New mock from Fanspeak

This mock is made with the assumption we'll go hard after Rodney Hudson (Center from Kansas City), since we need a legit center for Brees. He's young and we're in "win now" mode. This also assumes going after a CB like Perrish Cox


Round 1: VIC BEASLEY - OLB - CLEMSON
-position of major need, 'nuff said

Round 2: DENZEL PERRYMAN - ILB - MIAMI
-another position of major need of talent and youth

Round 3: KEVIN JOHNSON - CB - WAKE FOREST
-another position of need of talent

Round 4: TEVIN COLEMAN - RB - INDIANA
-I personally think someone will be willing to over pay Ingram, so we'll need a new RB. Coleman was there in the 4th so I had to jump on him!

Round 5: SHAQ MASON - G - GEORGIA TECH
-more youth is needed on the Oline. Mason proved himself at the Senior Bowl

Round 6: TYRUS THOMPSON - OT - OKLAHOMA
-OT depth behind Armstead and Strief is needed as we have Bryce "the turnstyle" Harris and Tavon "should have been an UDFA" Rooks

Round 7: LETERRIUS WALTON - NT - CENTRAL MICHIGAN
-big DT from a small school. 6'5, 331lbs. Was a basketball and baseball player, so he has some agility, footwork and hand skills

Benardrick will blow this combine up for a guy his size. He took the senior bowl hit and now he will retake the #1 ILB rating back

Either way you go this draft has a ton of defensive talent, possibly more defensive talent then I have seen in any other draft. In the first 3 rounds you can draft impact defensive players, I really hope we make the right moves and maybe trade back to the 20s for a second 3rd round pick.

I haven't looked online if a couple weeks but I think I'll wait until after the combine to start figuring out who I would target to help the Saints (which we seem to never match)
