All I know is that when faced with 4th and goal from the 1 yard line, I shriek in horror when he is the lone back lined up.

Re: Mark Ingram approaching 1000 yards
In all fairness to Ingram, he has carried this team to the wins we have now. I would resign him if possible but with Brees contract, Grahams (overpaid in my opinion) contract, our 2 guards large contracts, Byrds contract(can't wait to see him healthy next year) Cams up next season and so on and so on, I think he will leave. I will hate to see him go but unless he takes a reduced contract and just wants to be remembered as a Saint, some team gets a possible great back that is on the rise.

Re: Mark Ingram approaching 1000 yards
It's all about the Benjamins ... if too many, then let's thank him for his contributions, even if he bloomed later than we had hoped. We have to learn to not be afraid to let go and look forward to new cheaper talent to replace more expensive talent... you know, the New England model, save for the most important position, QB.

I believe he has coach feeling frustrated and angry. When I see these two interact Payton always looks like he's about to lose it. I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling when I see these two together. His excessive celebrations and subsequent penalties didn't endear him to coach either. Oh, and I can't recall the last time a team mate talked to him on the side line except immediately after a big play. I'm not saying that I am a psychologist or an expert in human relationships....I just tend be observant. And the thug mentality that I refer to is the big shows he puts on after a first down when we are getting blown out. I'm also referring to his excessive celebrations which hurt the team because of his stupid penalties. He has as yet to show me anything besides that thug mentality. And finally.............Hell no I'm not an Auburn fan! I bleed Crimson baby. However, they are both fine institutions of higher learning. I liked Ingram a lot coming out of Alabama. I was excited about him........but the glow has faded. I am glad he's playing better......just not glad enough to give him very much money against a tight cap. Edit: JMHO:p |

Running backs are not getting paid what they use to. No one is going to break the bank for him. I truly believe we will find a way to keep him. He has shown this year that he can carry the rock when healthy.
