I do not feel Warner would be better than AB but I do feel Kitna or Volek would. Hell, Tommy Maddox. I didn\'t think of him. Those who I think could compete with Leon, Garrard or McMahon. Everyone wants to speak of \"not getting AB\'s talent\" if we trade him. What has that talent gotten us the last 4 years? Diddly poo. Some say Bulger isn\'t as \"talented\" as AB. Is he in the playoffs with a worse offensive line than ours? Hell yeah he is. How about Carr? Their team was 8-8 and their line is bad. How about Bledsoe? 9-7 and we ALL know how much he gets sacked. I am with RDOX, replacing Brooks isn\'t about getting equal talent in return. It is about getting a TEAM guy in here that the TEAM will wanna follow and play with. Notice the word TEAM, I doubt Leon has ever used it unless it was to put himself above the other guys here. I would rather an average talented TEAM guy over an above average talent, mistake prone me first guy any day of the week. Thus guy is like T-mac on the Magic last year, jacks up 50 shots a game, shoots about 40% and complains that they are losing cause he doesn\'t have better players around him, but at the same time makes NOONE better by playing with him. Look at the Rockets record from this year to last and look at the Magic\'s. One got rid of T-Mac and got better, one got him and got worse. I am ready to unload our T-Mac.

Whoodi - I love the idea of Volek, but I\'m pretty sure that Tennessee sees him as their long-term replacement for McNair, so I doubt he\'s going anywhere. Maybe we could swap Brooks for Volek - I\'d take that.
Danno - sorry amigo, I thought it was you. Bad memory.
Warner never impressed me that much even when he was in St Louis. I got reemed by friends for it, but I thought he was very average. He definitely had a streak where he played above his head and delivered the ball well, but their line was solid, and with Holt, Bruce, Hakin, Proehl, Faulk, and Conwell, I could have had a 60% completion rate. His weakness was exposed by the Saints. Hit him early and hard and he starts getting happy feet and making mistakes. Well, it was hard to do that when you had to cover 4 to 6 absolute studs in coverage - 2 seconds and those guys were open. But when that changed, look at what happens. He perpetually has happy feet now. I see a lot of Brooks in him. Indecisiveness, slow progressions, loose football.... but without the up side of escapability, youth, a good injury record, or a big arm. I say NO to Warner. |

I am not a Brooks fan -- actually not even close -- but I will say this -- He is far from the worst of our problems. While I think his ego and attitude are far from admirable I would get a stud Linebacker, a good corner to complement McKenzie and do something about our Offensive line way before I worried about upgrading Brook.
