Re: Mickey Loomis on the hot seat?

Loomis is NOT a good general manager...

Lack of a comprehensive salary cap plan that exists beyond the current calender year...

More NFL draft and free agency Failures than Successes...

And He Overpays like a MLB General Manger - you know, the ones that pay second tier pitchers ten percent less than the best and signs them to four-plus years...

AND so tired of Loomis We Trust BS fans and how he found Colston in the seventh round

Thirty-two teams, including the Saints, passed on him for the better part of seven rounds!!!

Need a GM to reign in Payton and stop BS like reaching for Cooks when we needed that third round pick for a linebacker...

Or making a questionable selection of Jean-Baptiste in the second round...

Or giving up a second round pick in addition to a first round pick to select Roll Tide?!?

A Good GM would have said, "Look Sean, no question we need RBs, but that kid is going to need 16+ touches per game and you don't have that for him; let's keep our first round pick for next year and keep spreading out the cap and continue to add younger players EACH season..."

Re: Mickey Loomis on the hot seat?

Loomis isn't going anywhere. Payton tried to have it written in his contract that if Loomis left then he would be allowed to opt out of his contract but the NFL said no and that had to be scratched. As long as Payton's here then we're not getting rid of Loomis, Vitt, etc.

They have been much more successful on the offensive side of the ball. It's been a revolving door on the other side. Reminds of the Dan Fouts Chargers. Could score a million but gave up two million.

A lot of those scouts should be gone next year.

I expect the real problem will be addressed this off-season.

A key member of the Saints’ player personnel department since 2004, Rick Reiprish has been an integral part of the club’s scouting efforts since arriving in New Orleans. He brings over three decades of experience to his position.

As the club’s Director of College Scouting, his responsibilities include coordinating the efforts of the team’s area scouts, working to build a consensus entering the draft and grading and scouting college players throughout the year. Reiprish’s insight has been essential to the Saints’ success during the NFL Draft since his arrival.
So our top 2 personnel guys are history!!!

I hope his seat is hot. All of their seats should be hot...if a multimillionaires seat can even get hot.

Re: Mickey Loomis on the hot seat?

2013 - Kenny V. - Awesome pick. 2014 - Kenny V. - worst safety in the league. That's not on Loomis or Reiprish. That's on Kenny and the coaching staff.

We also had the #4 defense in the NFL last year. These guys were geniuses last year and now they should all be fired?

This is what scares me that Brees is becoming Fouts.
