I totally agree with u QBrees, rob and his DB coaches really got screwed up in planning. if rob stays his litter of assistants has to be fired, this I have to go with bottom up not from the top. his asst's were handed to him and not his tree of coaches.

I look at it like this: to fire Rob Ryan after only two years, would be admitting that Payton and Loomis got it wrong. When have they ever admitted to being wrong about anything. In Spagnuolo's case, they were able to use the excuse that Payton wasn't in the building, to save face and distance themselves from the "mistake" that they made in hiring him. And by firing Ryan so soon, now, it will inevitably call attention back to Spagnuolo's short history here, and also bring back memories of Gregg Williams' sudden departure and the various negative issues of Loomis and Payton and the Bountygate era locker room, right back into people's minds and back into the media. Which I assure you is the LAST THING Payton wants.

Therefore, to me it is highly unlikely they will fire Ryan right now. From the perspective of Payton and Loomis' own job security (which is really #1 with them, at this point), they are far more likely to make only minor tweaks and changes, rather than this huge grisly bloodbath of coaches and players that some people here seem to be predicting and wanting.

Payton actually said at the podium that it was "little things" that went wrong this year: that means he thinks it is NOT a big problem and this losing season was no big deal to him -- his and Loomis' own jobs are still safe. You don't fire your coordinators and whole staff over "little things," just like a doctor won't chop off somebody's head just because they have a pimple on their face.

let him stay if you fail to get any of the great defensive minds out there on the free agent market to balk at all of our offers. or just do not bother.

I am at the point were the window is closing and the defense is a mess and the fact drew is getting hammered is priority number 1. get drew the help to keep him upright in the pocket and accept what ever the issue is with the defense will have to be second.

As Drew goes so does the saints.

I think they are waiting to see if Rex goes to Atlanta. I could see Payton cutting RR loose if that happens.

Anyone that thinks it was just the little things needs their head examined that goes for coach also.

Cut our losses RR's history tells the story, but get the new DC right this time.

Firing RR and replacing him with someone else that is inept won't help the problem. We need talented coaches not yes men.
