this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; We have average to above average players up front, but we have a glaring weakness at that #2 CB spot. I'm sure we address all of them....

Re: Ranking Saints needs: No. 1 cornerback
1st we need a CB
2nd we need an ILB 3rd we need a NT That is just on defense. O-line is without a doubt my #1 priority.....but not necessarily my first pick ![]() |

Re: Ranking Saints needs: No. 1 cornerback
see i agree #1 need is a CB.
The one player that can make the biggest impact on the defense is CB Now the good news is it does not have to work out to be a #1 quality CB in the end. if it did that much better. Solid #2 CB are out there in FA and none need to be the player you break a bank for. in the Draft a low risk - high rewards type of CB should be had all the way through the second. picking were we are picking in the third there is little hope of one of them falling to us. so if CB is needed i see the saints taking one in the second or needing to trade back into the second to get one. notice i did not say you had to spend a first or make him your highest paid FA signing. Unless you want to sign Revis. the only true shut down CB out there. the pats will not pay him that last year of the contract |

Re: Ranking Saints needs: No. 1 cornerback
There is way more value in pressure. The whole unit can go from fair to good with one D-lineman that can bust the pocket. I think we address that in RD1. Probably get a CB in 3 or 4. If we don't it will be more of the same on that side.

Re: Ranking Saints needs: No. 1 cornerback
Thompson or Beasley has to be the first pick if available. The Saints need impact on defense. They can get a starting guard and center in rounds 3-6.

We were at the bottom of the league in defense due to everyone running on us whenever they wanted. Or needed to. |
