As per Nola.com - Rita Benson LeBlanc filed a lawsuit claiming that the teams' owner and family patriarch Tom Benson is incompetent and is being directed by a manipulative wife and her allies at the highest level of the sports empire.

The suit was filed one day after Tom Benson unexpectedly announced plans to transfer future ownership of the clubs to wife, Gayle, cutting off his daughter, Renee LeBlanc, and his two grandchildren, Ryan LeBlanc and Rita Benson LeBlanc, who until recently had been designated as the heir apparent.

The legal battle lays bare the internal strife within one of Louisiana's richest families and its highest profile business owners, pitting Benson and his wife of 10 years against his adopted daughter and family

I think she was the one who stopped her grandfather from moving the team to San Antonio. Hard to tell what's going on here because they run the organization like the secret police. Something is going on for sure.

All I know is that as I posted before, I'm pretty much done with the NFL. I have only watched Saints games the past two years. If the Saints are moved from the city of New Orleans, I will totally be done with the nfl. Then watch the city go as well. Whats going to bring in that kind of revenue to city.

Why have a big fanfare and announcement to tell the world that you have essentially cut your children and grandchildren from the will and have decided to give it all to your new young wife.... and you children and Rita need to go get a job??

Can't say as I am surprised by the lawsuit, they just lost control of a billion plus in sports franchises. I guess calling his mental capacity into play is their only option, but, it's not like Tom has been out of the public eye. Wouldn't the press notice if he was getting a bit off?

NFL had put heat on Tommy Boy some years ago when they wanted to see succession plans for each NFL franchise and that's why there was the fanfare for Rita...

i am all pins and needles here

i was shocked to hear she was out in the first place. never read anything posted to cause such hate as she is getting. bring me up to speed if i missed something.

the wife? thought she was his trophy and nothing more than something that hung on his arm.

Rita has all the training and the wife has what? besides the obvious.

this could be fun to watch and maybe just maybe the fate of the saints rest in this court case.

some thing smells fishy here between these two woman.
