Another stupid contract by Loomis. Ingram is not, NOT a 4 million a year running back. This guy has never had a 1000 yard season and adds nothing to the screen game. Can't believe they cut PT to give this hack more money.There are better, cheaper options out there yet they jumped the shark to keep him around. Roll Tide is only 25, TEAM/LOCKER ROOM GUY, runs hard. Only time I have seen Mark get upset is when he doesn't get the carries. We need more guys like this playing for our team. Brings his hard hat to work.

I'm happy Mark will continue to carry the rock for our team.

First, I love PT. Bottom line, he had 600 total yards last year, and only 45 catches. I'd take him back tomorrow, but when you compare a 25 yr old RB vs a 30 yr old, this makes sense.
Second, a hack? Um, okay.
Third, cheaper options? Ingram is only 25 and coming off a 964 yard season and is staying at $4 million, which barely puts him in the top 15

Running backs are a dime a dozen now, this almost smells as if Payton can't man up and admit that draft day trade and drafting him was a mistake from the beginning

Literally the perfect amount I believe, many people were predicting he'd be offered 4 year deal with 16M guaranteed.
Glad Ingram has accepted the deal, he was one of the only bright spots out of last season.

I'm impressed by his dedication to the team. He took a very fair deal and didn't test the water's of free agency where he might have made a few extra dollars. He wants to be here and I look forward to watching him take his game to the next level!

Ny only concerns with this dwal is it coukd cost us Robinson and we need a goid healthy back uo as Ingram durability to last 16 is a major issue. That and we need a pass catching back

Whoa Cajun, relax. We were all disappointed by last season and apparently you are not a big Ingram fan, but don't you have to admit that Ingram played with a lot of heart and emotion last year? I thought he ran really hard last season, fighting for extra yards and punishing DBs whenever he got the chance. Heck, he was pacing the sidelines in a rage like the HULK. I thought he was far and away our best offensive payer last year and really became a team leader too. I sure hope he proves you wrong. I still hope we draft Kenny Hilliard but in the slim chance I'm wrong and he's not a stud back, it's good that we have a proven RB like Ingram on the roster.

No way! Such conspiracy theorists here! Payton's certainly stubborn, and you can love or hate the move (No way Ingram is a hack, personally I love the move). But people seem to forget, in hindsight the trade-up for Ingram was brilliant, or lucky. Had we not traded up, we'd have (certainly) lost the pick the next year from Goodell's Bounty Gate Garbage.

If I am Payton or Loomis, I always secretly breathed a sigh of relief that pick was taken a year in advance if not for that BS bounty crap alone!

Oh how I hope you are right. I wouldn't mind seeing a single back set. Ingram as the main with Robinson to spell out. I would like to get a thumper type of back to replace Cadet though just in case Ingram goes down.
