Re: 2015 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Looking at the wide receiver situation...
Given that it's only OTAs so far... Coleman and Jones have "dazzled" in hats and shorts... Kyle Prater is one big dude with some amazing hands... Two questions, first would we keep five (5) or six (6) wide receivers? second, how'd you rank them going into camp? |

247 Sports with CBS Sports.com: New Orleans Saints OTA’s: 3 Early Risers
by Rahul Lanka I know, I know, it’s just practice, and non-contact as well. However, practice is where players make themselves known, especially ones fighting for playing time on the field. The players who have shined over the past 2 weeks at OTAs are players at positions of needed depth, so the team has to be excited with what they see. Brandon Coleman, WR The 6-foot-6 wide receiver has been flying high during practices. Coleman has been getting some time with the first-team and has made some big-time plays. Beating Keenan Lewis, blazing by Kenny Vaccaro, and out-maneuvering Kyle Wilson are all feats Coleman has pulled off during the opportunities he’s been given... Stephone Anthony, LB First-round LB Stephone Anthony has been having himself a productive couple of weeks. Anthony has been practicing at the Mike position and has been showing off his athleticism, impressing with his speed, size, and strength...These skills plus his performance thus far has caused some bystanders to comment that he is among the top defensive performers so far. His coverage ability is one the Saints need at the LB position, and Sean Payton has praise for the rookie as well: “I think he (Anthony) has good instincts,” said Payton. Delvin Breaux, CB Delvin Breaux is a homegrown product that has...shown some promise...(with) Browner sidelined...Wednesday, Breaux had the opportunity to practice with the first-team defense, and he...intercepted Brees once and broke up multiple passes...“He’s picked things up. He’s handed it pretty well. He’s in real good shape,” said head coach Sean Payton on Breaux’s play Wednesday. |

Next Few Months Critical For Saints CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste
I'd rank our cornerbacks as this: CB Keenan Lewis CB Brandon Browner CB Delvin Breaux CB P.J. Williams CB Kyle Wilson CB Brian Dixon CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste CB Terrence Frederick CB A.J. Davis CB Damian Swann Likely carrying five (5) cornerbacks, maybe six (6)... |
Re: 2015 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Meanwhile coaches haven't said a whole lot of nothing on SJB.

Re: 2015 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Everything changes when the pads go on and the bullets are live...
There's going to be alot of banging by that secretary, just hope these extra wide receivers we've signed survive training camp... It's going to get real chippy in camp... |

Re: 2015 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Next Few Months Critical For Saints CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste
I'd update my ranking of our cornerbacks as this: CB Keenan Lewis CB Brandon Browner CB Delvin Breaux CB P.J. Williams CB Brian Dixon CB Damian Swann ***************** CB Kyle Wilson CB Terrence Frederick CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste CB A.J. Davis Again, likely carrying five (5) cornerbacks, maybe six (6) if say Swann is viewed as tweener (CB/S/NB type)... SJB is in trouble...He may have to head to the CFL, gets some reps, and come back in a year or two... |
