Money and Balance
In todays NFL I think a team shouldn't tie up huge sums of money on one unit.
We have a lot of money tied up in our D-line and Secondary. The smart thing to do would be to spread the money among a member or two of each unit. Looking at our team it seems the most underpaid position on the team is LB. We have big money at D-line (Howard, Smith, Sullivan, Grant) We have big money in the secondary, Tebuckey, McKenzie But we don't have big money at LB Logic dictates this team should now seek a big money stud at LB. And it doesn't matter which spot. Watson can play all three. I'd love to land a stud SLB. Next would be a stud MLB, and move Watson outside. If I'm Loomis I seriously attempt to land a stud LB in free-agency and/or very early in the 1st round of the draft. I now think obtaining a stud DT in free-agency or in the 1st round may not be the answer. From seasons past its apparent we aren't going to get two A-players. I think we go after an A-player LB and a B-player DT. |
