That's why you at least entertain the idea of trading him, if you believe you've got an adequate QB to step in. Brees is not God, he is not the untouchable force that some want to think he is. Maybe he restuctures, maybe he takes a pay cut. Who knows. I doubt he is ever traded, but he won't be here forever. What will we do when his contract is up or he retires? Who knows who will be available when that time comes, so do we just let him walk, or do we get something back? We'll find out one day, but in the mean time don't be so dismissive of the idea.

I am, however, critical of the "reports" that keep coming out about him being shopped. Of course the Saints will listen to offers, but there is nothing substantial going on to warrant a story.
