Trading up, kinda sorta

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Man I don't know... You mean like trading our #31 pick to a team looking to jump back into the first round in exchange for their 2016 2nd rounder? If that happens to be offered it would be awfully tempting. ...

But at the same time... I kinda feel like using all these picks we have this year to help put the best team we can around our next QB so he won't have everything on his shoulders.

No, typically a pick this year would translate to a higher pick next year.

We'd trade our 2nd for a 2016 1st, or our 3rd for a 2016 2nd.

Yeah that's right, I see what you mean now. So many possibilities. I'd gladly give up one of our 3rds for a 2016 2nd rounder. That would take incredible patience by Loomis and Payton though to not package one of those picks in a trade up in the 1st or 2nd round.
