Trading up, kinda sorta
How do you guys feel about trading a pick or two this year for a better pick or two next year.
I'm thinking the closer we get to the end of Drew's career the better off we'll be with extra picks to possibly draft his eventual successor. |

If you mean Bryce Petty, I'm with ya. It looks like he needs about 2 years of development and thats about what Drew's got left.
But at #31 or with our 2nd rounder? |

Neaux..... and NeauxFW!
We got Ingram the last time we traded up. While he isn't a bust, not sure at all he was worth moving up for. And before, we wound up with Sully. | |

Re: Trading up, kinda sorta
I think if we can turn a pick this year into a higher pick next year we have to consider it. It all depends on our draft board and if anything we are interested in is available where we are sitting at the time. I'd rather trade deeper and get more picks or future picks than reach for something or pick outside our interests for the sake of being stuck using the pick if it means that.

If the densense was not so horrible, might be a good idea but we have to get better on that side now.

Re: Trading up, kinda sorta
Man I don't know... You mean like trading our #31 pick to a team looking to jump back into the first round in exchange for their 2016 2nd rounder? If that happens to be offered it would be awfully tempting.
But at the same time... I kinda feel like using all these picks we have this year to help put the best team we can around our next QB so he won't have everything on his shoulders. |

Re: Trading up, kinda sorta
The only ++ guys I'd trade up to get are Beasley and Scherff or trade the 5th rounders to get in the high 4th round for a defensive end like Henry Anderson if he fell there...
Petty has only been in a one read and go offense, I like Ryan Griffin more... And we pulled Griffin back to keep the Rams from getting him, so there's something there... I like keeping both first rd picks because you get the extra year on their rookie contracts and that's huge, major cap relief, trade options there... |
