San Diego gave 4th and 5th round picks to move just 2 spots. Stay put.

Therein lies the problem... He may be a good player but is he good enough to beat out our current starting tackles this season? Nope. He doesn't project to play guard either. So we used that high of a pick on a guy who is an eventual replacement for our aging right tackle?!

He would provide some very needed mobility to that RT spot and change the whole way that spot is played now with Strief.

Peat was projected as a top 10 pick. Careful now... I'll trust Sean, Loomis and Ireland on this one :p.

Peat attended Corona del Sol High School in Tempe, Arizona, where he was a letterman in football, basketball and track. In football, he played as an offensive tackle, leading his basketball team to the Division 1 state championship as a senior.[2] In track & field, Peat competed as a shot putter (top-throw of 45 ft, 5 in) and discus thrower (top-throw of 112 ft, 1 in).[3]

Yep. Sure am. Not athletic enough to play left tackle in pros and we have one of the best right tackles in the league. Unless we plan on cutting Strief (which would be a massive mistake because he's one of our team leaders) then we drafted a backup tackle who is projected to take over at RT.

Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread

I was a bit turned off when they were describing him as a finesse tackle... but I'm going to keep an open mind. I wanted an OT at 13 and well, I got it. He's been compared to some really good players... so we could have done a lot worse.

Good value but shows how over valued the talking heads had him.

He and fowler were being mocked at mid-midlate first rounders before combine
