Happy Draft Day everyone, yeah its the first round tonight but for adult me it feels like Xmas morning. Here's to the Saints improving the team and doing what they think is best for the team.

Re: 2015 NFL Draft
Everyone post a picture of who you think we should draft with the 13th pick.
Notice I didn't at AT 13... |
Re: 2015 NFL Draft
I'll probably eat crow on this, but I think the Saints are going to be the talk of tonight.
I really think we trade up with Oakland (4) or Washington (5). |
Re: 2015 NFL Draft
Well... I'm just waiting around and doing aggravating things until the draft.

Good Times* Until the draft makes me angry |
Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
I honestly will be fine with whatever they choose to do in the first as long as the player/players we get can play immediately and improve the team. I just hope they learned their lesson from that sloppy excuse of a draft last year.

Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
Reporters saying Petty coild go in the late first. I hope we view that as too high. Waste of a pick
Trade back from 31 so a team can get him |

Collins considered too hot to handle now.

Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
Matt Miller just made a great point on Petty. Sit the man for two years and he is 26. The major thing is he will be 28 by the time his deal ends and will be looking for a massive contract as its likely to be his only BIG money feal (asuming he is a top QB)

Either way Sam Bradford will be a Titan and Mariota will be an Eagle before the year starts. ** Saints trade the #13 in the first round and the #78 in the 3rd round for 2015, along with the 3rd round pick for 2016 to the Bears for pick #7 in 2015 ***Jets trade their 2nd round pick #37 and their 4th round pick #104 to the New Orleans Saints for pick #31 to draft Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA Before yall freak out about us moving up look at the whole picture. So after all the trades we moved up from #13 to #7 then back from #31 to #37 (6 spots) and back from #78 to #104 (26 spots) which means essentially we only gave up a 3rd next year to draft Vic Beasley. We still have 9 picks this year. So to me its all worth it if we only give up a 3rd next year for a premium pass rusher. Yall have to remember we have a strong connection with the Bears and their new GM Ryan Pace, which worked for us last year, who would love to get more picks in his first draft |
Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
If they draft Petty in the first or second imma be über pissed. Get him in the third or fourth if there and let him ride the pine for a year or two. God i love the hype beast overhyping some players come the last week of the draft.

Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
Bryce Petty report
Weaknesses Scouts concerned he could be product of Baylor's one-read system. Has tendency to spray the ball against zone coverage on intermediate routes. Can extend plays but won't make many plays downfield once he extends. Mistakes happen when forced to come off of first read. Struggles when defenders are near his feet. Yards per attempt declined in 2014 and screens were a much higher percentage of his passes. Struggles to pull himself from the doldrums when having a poor game. Nose of the ball dives when he doesn't drive throws with his lower body. Must learn to read defenses and get through his progressions when he joins the NFL. Draft Projection Round 4 Sources Tell Us "My grade is a projection based on what I think he can do rather than what he did this year. I think his back was a bigger problem for him than people realize." -- AFC North area scout* "Offenses that ask quarterbacks to look to the sidelines so coaches can make the pre-snap reads will never crank out NFL ready quarterbacks. Those quarterbacks all need redshirt years in the league." -- AFC West area scout* "After watching the tape, talking to both guys and seeing them work out, I have Petty ahead as my third quarterback." -- AFC quarterbacks coach NFL Comparison Austin Davis Bottom Line NFL evaluators felt like Petty's senior season was disappointing, but those same evaluators love his size, leadership and intangibles. He needs a year or two of practice time and camp work to learn how to get through his progressions, but has the intelligence to do that. Petty flashed plenty of arm strength at the NFL Scouting Combine and as the draft draws closer, teams might very well begin to conceptualize Petty fitting into their offense as a potential starter of the future. One read Struggles in zone Gets in doldrums No no no no |
Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
I'm cautiously optimistic we draft a kid who will be a potential DAY 1 starter. Hopefully Ireland and his team did their due diligence & we stay away from any 1st/2nd round "projects".
Who dat :saintsfan: |
Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
Saints trade down to #23 and select DT Brown picking up a late #2 and select Petty with that pick.

Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
If that happens the Graham trade looks horrific
Graham + 4th for Unger and a back up QB(one with a 3/4th round grade by most reports) |

listening to SP on WWL and he just said he doesn't see Petty in first happening (for us)

Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
If Petty is there in the 2nd, uhhh maybe, not fired up.
If he's there in the 3rd, I'm on board. If he's there in the 4th... Oh hell yes!!! |
Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
It's hard to guess who should be where in the draft; so much late pre-draft drama has shown up. Who know's who's falling and rising
|
Re: 2015 NFL Draft Day Discussion Thread
If Falcons draft Shane Ray at #8 that would be great for us.
