Re: Our WR corps

Colston is a year older and slower. Cooks is a small WR coming off an injury. The only thing that has kept Toon in the NFL is his last name. All the rest couldn't make or stay on an NFL roster last year. Now, they don't have Graham to draw some coverage away from them. The Saints front office dropped the ball in the draft which was deep and talented at WR. Either Payton is truly going to run the ball more this season or it's going to be another long, disappointing season for the Saints. The whole idea that Brees, with his age and declining skills, can do it with anybody, is ridiculous. I personally think this will be the last season in New Orleans for Brees and Payton.

Re: Our WR corps

A name many are forgetting in the receiving discussion is Josh Hill...

He reminds me of Raider's Great Todd Christenson; and I don't throw that complement around lightly...

Same skill set and build; similar character traits as well...

Hopefully the opposing defenses will overlook him as many here have...

But this is the NFL which also stands for Not For Long; and Josh Hill is poised for a great season...

Re: Our WR corps

Smash, we've got two like him...

Brandin Cooks, Jalen Saunders and Lance Moore is still lurking for a job...

Wes has got serious headache issues; wish him all the best...

Re: Our WR corps

People went everywhere with this thread. Here are my predictions: Josh Hill makes the Pro Bowl and finishes the season with more catches than Jimmy Graham. Cooks becomes a legit #1 WR. Toon and Joe Morgan are tough to figure. Both have the talent and have flashed it. I love Joe Morgan. RJ Harris will make this roster and maybe even start. Huge producer in college, decent speed, polished route runner and a hands catcher. He could possibly pair nicely with Cooks.

Re: Our WR corps

He's a juggler, defensive backs in the NFL won't give him time to get handles on the ball - he better get that fixed...

He's got good straight line speed, but only one gear; he doesn't have that small area quickness you'd like in a receiver that size...

If it's closes, I'm taking a taller receiver who has a high catch point, larger catch radius...

Wish him good hunting at camp...

Re: Our WR corps

If Brees gets the time, any of these guys will do.
Will probably keep 5 or a 6th if they can pull double duty.
Another BIG/LONG with Colston, and then another 3-4 that show they can make things happen.
Doesn't matter to me which 5 or 6 get it done.
If Brees get yet another +4,500 yards we'll be fine.
AGAIN!

Re: Our WR corps

For heaven's sake..every one of us (except teddy) beat the drum for defense and O-line in this draft. Lo and behold, we did exactly that... now what's with all the weeping and gnashing of teeth about the offense and the receivers? It's no great secret that we have had top rated offenses with a whole cast of no names at the skill positions, with one or two "weapon x" type of guys. Spiller and Cooks easily fill that role, and I daresay they're an upgrade over guys who have filled that role for us in years past. Everyone relax, breathe and know that we will once again have a top 10 offense, probably even top 5.
