Tough video to watch...

While it's easy to see that Galette hits a woman with a belt twice, we have no context surrounding the events that lead to that video.

I did see a man and woman approaching Galette who both seemed to be in attack mode. This is where Jr. could have and should have back peddled his way out of it.

Instead he lashes out wildly and hits a woman at least once on purpose.

The fact that he re-entered the fight is also bad.

Here's my thing:

If this happened in 2013 when did the NFL receive the tape?

Was it sent to the same office as the Ray Rice video? Same desk? Same person??

Did the NFL see the video and if so, why didn't they take action?

Pretty much sums up what I'm seeing in the video ... guy in the blue shorts looks to me like probably the catalyst to the whole situation ... him & Junior (allegedly) are fighting, over what? A woman at the beach? Who knows. Fight breaks up & then he's (blue-shorts guy) at it again with a female, possibly one of Junior's (allegedly) entourage, so Junior (allegedly) re-enters the fray, #shrug. This guy/JG (allegedly) needs to start hanging out with a different crowd, #shrug.

Why'd it take 2yrs to surface? You'd figure if it was JG, the ambulance-chasers woulda' been on it quicker than that,

Regardless, the right action is to fine and suspend this kid.

Selfishly, I want his contract voided to protect the team.

If not, have you ever thought of a better reason to burn $10 million?

That's a fair, wise approach as due process is a shared value, at least in our part of the country; of course, his lawyers will try to construct a narrative that puts a favorable spin on this; but, as you say, he re-entered the fray...

Saints sent in the tape per reports, but the exact date hasn't been disclosed, yet...

The NFL owners should have relieved the Commissioner of his duties after he fumbled the Ray Rice, Ravens Disaster where he clearly showed bias and indifference to their organization...

So what is the League waiting on?!? Where's the quick, decisive action?!?

Note: Would a younger, healthier, dare we say 'competent', Tom Benson had stood up and begged that question?!?

This is why you don't rush out and extend a contract because you're concerned about getting out ahead of the cap...

Junior had one season of "Will Smith sack numbers" while even in that season, teams had started to figure out you could run past him...

(defined, Will Smith Sack Numbers are those stats that put a pass rusher among league leaders even though the stats are skewed because they came in bunches against inferior, back-up offensive linemen and said pass rusher was totally ineffective against regular starting offensive linemen; i.e. three, three-sack games and a couple of half-sacks)...

Nonetheless, Saints should never have a player in a contract that doesn't offer the flexibility to move/trade the player or outright release him...

I for one don't excuse his action toward the female but if I was in that same situation I think I'll probably gave her a whipping too. You just don't know what will happen if you amongst a group of individuals who want to do you bodily harm so I give Galette the "American Sniper" pass
