Ouch! He must of been a real cancer if they are willing to eat 12.1 million in 2016 and lose 12 sacks a year. So that puts us up to roughly 155 million next year with out top 53. Wonder what the cap line will be......

Which in my opinion is why it was the right decision.

You do not flush that much money down the toilet unless you are 100% positive that it is without question the correct decision, from Benson all the way down the chain of command.

My guess is even the waterboys wanted his ass gone. And if our own Saintfan got his wish and was employed as a waterboy, he'd agree too.

He's immature, and despite his talent as a pass rusher, I think he is about to find the job market with slim to no suitors.

God I hope so. But you know there will be some ass cock low down scum team that will sign him NYJ, Failclowns, Pats

It's unfortunate but he will get signed. The league should have the power to stop that :lightsabres:

I am Saintfan. I am a (wannabe) waterboy. It was time. Ever onward.

Agreed. The really bad apples should just be banned from the league.

They have that built into the process. A second time offender under domestic violence can be suspended for up to a year and has to petition to re-enter. Repeat offenders can be banned indefinitely.

While we are all pitch forks and such for Galette because his behavior has screwed the team, he has yet to be suspended even once by the league- though I am expecting it to happen.

There are two sides of this. One is the price the player must pay, but teams must also be vigilant about who they give lucrative contracts to.

The Saints aren't the first team to be burned on a deal like this and they won't be the last.

As the league ramps up the penalties, fewer and fewer teams will take the risk.

But at the same time, he was already being investigated for the dismissed charges and then this video surfaces...

That's like being arrested and then arrested again before your trial date for the first time; should be a stiffer penalty than just 6 games

I get having to still pay them, that's not a problem for these owners. But it shouldn't count against the cap once the player is off the team.

In due time I think the league will implement some type of cap relief provision to the CBA when circumstances like this occur.
