This was expected with all the things going on with him off the field and even on the way to the field. It's a shame it had to come to this, but they had to part ways with him to stay credible.

I thought he was overpaid and said as much when he was given the extension, but they'll just have to eat the dead money and learn from it.

To me Galette never seemed dominant, a one trick pony, who never seemed to show up when it mattered. It's funny how people are talking about the 22 sacks in 2 seasons, and on that basis alone deem him a top-tier pass rusher - clearly they haven't seen many Saints' games.

And if anyone needed any more convincing this was the right move - just look how classless his reaction was to his release.

frees up 100K this year and 12.1 million in dead money next year.

Ouch! He must of been a real cancer if they are willing to eat 12.1 million in 2016 and lose 12 sacks a year. So that puts us up to roughly 155 million next year with out top 53. Wonder what the cap line will be......

Which in my opinion is why it was the right decision.

You do not flush that much money down the toilet unless you are 100% positive that it is without question the correct decision, from Benson all the way down the chain of command.

My guess is even the waterboys wanted his ass gone. And if our own Saintfan got his wish and was employed as a waterboy, he'd agree too.
